Dinner ideas between Christmas and NY

I usually host a dinner between Christmas and new year for about 12 people (6 adults and 6 children). I try to do something quite festive and Christmasy. It’s quite informal with the adults at the table and the kids (various ages) at the table with us, or breaking off in smaller groups at different parts of the house.

the last few years I have cooked:
nigella ham in cola with red cabbage and potatoes.
lasagna and salad
turkey curry

I’m looking for ideas for this year. Ideally something with which is quite wintery and Christmasy, but not a stew or similar as I find I just can’t get them right; they often go very watery and I don’t have a slow cooker.
things which can be prepped before are a big winner!
thanks

Came on to suggest a ham with potatoes,.we have the same taste! We.often do a ham and leek (and leftover turkey) pie, just whack a puff pastry lid on it served with green veg. With a ham we also like danish caramelised potatoes, so indulgent and never have them outside of the Christmas season so it feels very festive. What about a big piece of salmon? I also love a big dish of potato gratin on a buffet table that time of year and that goes well with salmon or ham.

Koulibiac? Salmon stuffed with rice and veg and wrapped in puff pastry. A bit like a salmon Wellington.
