12 year old beauty/make up

Hi, please could you advise on what is currently popular with 12 year old girls for make up products or brush sets. My DD is just getting started and I want to buy her a nice set of products, something that over girls her age want and is in the 'in' thing.

What kind skin care or of make up are you after? I'd say let her discover it organically through peers and online and let her decide what she wants, otherwise it's like you're pushing beauty products at her. You could always visit Boots together and show her what you use and she may already recognise some brands her friends use? At 12 she's still quite young for all this.

My 13 year old loves summer Fridays , Milk, laneige, glow recipe , Rhode If you can get your hands on any!

I’d focus on cleansing and moisturising, avoid any actives, acids, peels etc.

12 year old DD has asked for Sol de Janeiro and Bubble. I’ve bought her Cerave also (great stuff).

She has a few elf cosmetics (clear mascara, brow gel, concealer for spots).

I’ve told her she won’t be getting anything expensive or aimed at adults like Drunk Elephant! Especially as she leaves the lid off everything!!

Re. Cerave...my DD has used the products and found them to be good on her skin. However, she has since found out they are not ethical or sustainable and they test on animals so we're steering well clear from now on.

I'm looking for a gift set or make up set with a few things in to experiment with.
