Looking for ideas for a 10 year old girl who loves crafting and doesn't really play with toys anymore.
One things she's mentioned is she'd like a digital clock if there's any recommendations.

I got my niece a small sewing machine at a similar age

My dd loves her sewing machine. She also likes hand sewing and very much appreciated being given a whole bag of different types of fabric offcuts, some patterned, some soft and fleecy etc, some of which she used to create a sofa and bedding for a barbie house (that she also made out of cardboard). In fact the barbies have definitely had a resurgence in popularity now she is sewing for them!

Also fancy pens - posca pens, calligraphy, legami, faber&castell highlighters etc. Paint sets and paper. Trusty notebooks (her words!). Selloptape in a dispenser. A glue gun. Fimo for making little figurines or jewellery.

A galaxy or underwater lamp?

Does she enjoy cooking? Baking kits or even pasta machines might be popular.

Following with interest for clock suggestions! She may also like a watch?

Aquarellum
Reverse tie dye kit
Recipe book - my DD’s most used book is a smoothie and milkshake one
Super Spirograph (a bit more complex than the regular Spirograph and great fun, even for adults!)
Hair wrap kit
Pictionary Air

I've got my 11 yo a load of art stuff in tk maxx. Looking for some goth type clothes that aren't ££££ & otherwise stumped! Scrawlrbox are good but haven't a decent sale yet but do keep an eye on them

Big bag of embroidery thread in lots of colours for making friendship bracelets

Crochet hooks, balls of wool in different colours, safety eyes, bag of stuffing and a book about making amigurumi/other small cute things

Not crafty but mine is currently obsessed with plants, so I'm looking for some little candles in the shape of cacti and some actual cacti in cute pots (Tesco is good for these)

Pottery wheel, tools and clay - lots of choice on Amazon.
diamond art, embroidery & felt craft, lots of kits out there.
sewing machine is a good idea and a sewing kit with buttons/lots of coloured thread/ pin cushion etc

I'm making my dd art hamper full of pens, charcoal pencils, notebooks, sketch books etc. She also.asked for a loom band kit from Smyths

For my dd10 ive got her an instax mini camera, a label printer (she will love this!), bracelet making set and a kit to make her own pens.

My nearly 9 yo DD is into scrap booking. I got a scrapbooking kit from The Works in summer and she loved it. Sometimes she spends more than 2 hours, and she loves to show it to friends and family.

Getting my 10 year old dd a Flip book kit, candle making kit, also looking into a cricut, which has been recommended by a friend.

Some great ideas thanks so much! She's got every craft set/jewellery making kit out there and loves her posca pens, so more colours are on her list. She does enjoy crochet so a sewing machine is a great idea, Any recommendations for a kids one?

Skip the kids one and go straight for a simple one. The kids ones are so flimsy and break easily.

Onemorepenny · 07/11/2024 11:48

I'd agree with @Letsseeshallwe - entry level sewing machine will do most things for ages. Can recommend the Brother LK14S, I've had mine for years and it does the job.

Alternatively if she crochets, maybe some fancy multi colour yarn from an indie dyer? Can recommend some brands if you want.
