I would love your suggestions of Christmas presents for nearly 2 year olds - both "big present" price point and things around £20 from aunts & uncles.

Thinking a play kitchen for the big one, but not sure about others

Big - balance bike, pikler triangle, wobble board, large dolls house, big train set

smaller - tea set or other sets for play kitchen (Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons are great for these), big chunky pens/pencils, some scoops and containers for ‘pouring’ play, car garage, dolls and equipment, stacking/threading/posting toys

Second the balance bike, we skipped that and are now stuck in stabiliserhell.
I would go for gym type equipment. Mini climbing frame and balance stones.

Toddler skooter
Role play items eg till, ice cream kart
Wooden cleaning set
Playdoh set
Baby dolls & accessories like buggy, changing bag etc
Wellies / good quality hat / other winter items
Puzzles
Sticker books
Tonie box

The two most used items here were the vtech alphabet train and a small slide. Also got good use from insert puzzles with numbers and letters, big lego blocks, slime, sand and stickers.

I would say play kitchen is a pretty good idea.

Train set? All the big brands that do wooden train track are compatible with each other and have loads of extension sets of varying price. My 2 year old really gets into it.

The IKEA play kitchen was great at that age and lasted a good few years of play-ability. Our DD also got a Wendy house from relatives for the garden at 2 and that was played with for years after too. Rocking horse she loved again for at least 2/3 years, as she got older she used it as a seat to watch her cartoons on too! On much smaller scale, bath crayons were big hit at that age, easy dressing up clothes (like fairy wings, super hero cape etc) & books lots of books.

We bought DD an easel when she was 2, she's now 10 and it's still our most used toy - either her or DS6 use it pretty much every day. They're not bothered about the chalk side but love the whiteboard.

Oh this is good to know! I have been looking at the Ikea easel and it looks great.

Train set is a lovely idea 💡

Thank you for all the inspiration
