Gingerbread tree ornament recipe

Does anyone have a good recipe for gingerbread dough, to make long-lasting tree decorations with please? They don't need to be edible!

I've found a few recipes online, but most of them are either on American sites with a million adverts clogging up the screen, or are the basic salt dough recipe for little kiddies without any spices in them. I love the smell of ginger and nutmeg, but don't like cinnamon, so looking for one without that.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated, thank you.🙂

@TentEntWenTyfOur

I've not tried these myself, but it sounds as though they would fit the bill.

I can see other nice recipes online, like the Nigella Lawson one (they look very pretty), but they include cinnamon, which you say you don't like the smell of.

Should you change your mind about making them yourself, Waitrose sells some ready for decoration.
