I need some posh small presents. 4 for men and 4 for women. Maybe 10/15 quid each? I want them to be a bit out of the ordinary-and something they won't want to recycle immediately. The recipients are between 23 and 28.Any ideas?

One year I wen to some charity shops, found pretty pots or glasses, bought cheap matches and put the matches in and used these Striker stickers to male pretty little match pots. They were a hit!

Love this!

Fabulous thread- I have picked up a few ideas. Ordered the little RSPB songbirds for my boys stockings and also am building a basket on the Rough Trade website.

What a fab thread!!! Busy checking out all the suggestions and now I really really want a Wren pen!!! What beautiful colour inks!

AndThereSheGoes · 15/11/2024 20:31

Also traditional things like "coal"in the stocking from somewhere posh like Fortnums. Or an amazing glass satsuma

lolawasashowgirl · 15/11/2024 20:33

@AndThereSheGoes ooh I love your suggestions! Where can you get a glass satsuma from though? 😃

Tom's Trunks medium is a size 8 and XXL is a size 14. Are these made for ants?

Tom's Trunks medium trousers are about a size 11/12. The shorts run small if you have hips so size up.

Not posh, but I bought one of these phone holders for myself, which I use for its intended purpose, but I also use it to prop up my phone when I’m FaceTiming.

My mother saw it and said she wanted one a few months ago, so I bought her one to put in her Christmas stocking. 😊

Thought I’d post it on here!

I hesitate to say this because I'm going to lose the room- but I make my own......😊

@CurlewKate nope you’ll keep us, just so long as you share how 😊

Felith · 16/11/2024 09:49

Possibly already shared on this thread but there's currently a free gift with the Victoria Beckham site purchases. I've had a Kajal liner on my posh stocking list for a while but the free eyeshadow definitely makes it. Hello15 gives an extra 15% off.

Felith · 16/11/2024 09:50

And seconding the please share the coal recipe!

Oh this is a great idea!

AndThereSheGoes · 16/11/2024 12:36

@lolawasashowgirl Hands up, I saw glass fruit in Italy but actually no idea where to find them here. I wish I had bought them. Grrr

I bought coals from a Northumbrian company. They had Coals from Newcastle which last weekend seemed to be discounted. I like the idea of making my own but I know (past experience) I would spend a fortune on nice packaging to put them in.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 16/11/2024 13:09

The discovery of striker stickers was amazing 😂 I bought some for a friends husband who dotted the round the house hidden in bookshelves etc and perfected the art of whipping out a match from his pocket and “magically” lighting it. I’m not sure she was as thrilled but I found it v amusing 😂

I would say this thread has been really helpful but I had no intention of doing stockings. Not one. Now I’m the proud owner of 4 stockings and have multiple deliveries arriving 😂

NWnature · 16/11/2024 22:07

Liberty do a gorgeous playing card set which is in the Black Friday sale for £12 at the moment. Loads of other beautiful things that I am sure would be a hit

Some different stocking fillers depending on what people are into

Millicentmarjorie · 17/11/2024 02:36

What a great thread! This shop is great for stocking fillers, all actually really nice items and all less than about £18. All my stocking bits and secret santas have come from here!

One of my unplanned stockings 😂 is for a v dear friend who I’m spending Xmas with.

She’s just bought a ruin fixer upper 😂 and is basically building a house, any ideas on fun gifts, maybe personalised, I could get her? (She’s not doing the work herself but is VERY involved so tools could be completely pointless but amusing 😁)

These look fab and I could split the box. Which scent do you recommend?

@AlwaysRoomForGin This is an underailable thread! I have the Wren-and I love it. It's the refillable rollerball and it's so smooth and lovely to use. I only use it for writing
though, so I don't know about drawing. The Wren only takes fountain pen ink-I tried using drawing ink because of the lovely colours, but it clogged it up. But that's the only drawback I've found. They feel so well made and come in such good colours. It makes me happy every day.

I have just ordered a pen from
Toms Studio based on this thread.

Thanks so much OP!
