Posh adult "stocking" presents

I need some posh small presents. 4 for men and 4 for women. Maybe 10/15 quid each? I want them to be a bit out of the ordinary-and something they won't want to recycle immediately. The recipients are between 23 and 28.Any ideas?

if they like getting flowers, a nice thing would be a promise to deliver flowers in January.
January always feels so dull after the sparkle and colour of Christmas, and you can really feel in a bit of a slump. some nice, bright flowers can be a real pick me up at that time.

You could get a flower subscription (Bloom & Wild do them as do others) for three months or even one month, that would cover the whole of that awful 'post Christmas lull' period.

I’d love subscription for unkillable, pet friendly plants. Possibly a bit too specific 😂

I am shamelessly bookmarking because I have recipients for the revolutionary cards, and the rebel tea towels, and several other suggestions.

In exchange, I offer you Corrymoor Mohair Companion socks. Not itchy, never smelly, unisex, lots of colours, wash well and they will become everyone's favourites. I get complaints when there isn't a pair. Anyone who has chilly toes, and who walks or works outdoors adores them. About £15 a pair, but the mutt's nuts of socks.

Edited

I love those socks and have several recipients of all ages.
Can you please tell me how tight they are on the ankle? (An issue for one person)

I’ve never bought them but when I looked on the website, one of the styles specifically lists that it doesn’t have a tight cuff which makes it suitable for sufferers of reynaud’s, diabetes etc. Never seen a sock manufacturer specifically address this before!

Me too.

Thanks for all the ideas, struggling with what to buy a family member, lady, who's big on brands and bland and we have limited budget for. Will check out a few of these, esp space masks as that might be her thing.

LadyGabriella · 27/10/2024 17:56

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer (hair mask) is in my opinion much better than Olaplex. They make smaller sample sizes I believe.

I do a 12 month one for my mum each Xmas, she loves it and the flowers are always stunning.
Depending one what they are, some blooms last almost until the next delivery!

Newposter180 · 27/10/2024 18:38

Has anyone tried Haute flowers for subscriptions?

Turtle Doves cashmere fingerless gloves although they are 18.

These are nicer quality than Turtle Doves, in budget at £14 and you can choose the exact gloves you get. https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/seabeach2012

@PermanentTemporary One of the unintended consequences of getting it kitchen done is a non magnetic fridge door. It makes me sad!

Do you have an extractor hood? often metal, I use mine for all the fridge magnets that now wont work on my fridge.

Is your fridge on the end? You could get a metal wrap to attach to the side and have it sprayed the same colour as your cabinets.

There are some lovely ideas for gifts on this thread, thank you everyone!

This company is local to me, a posh jar of honey makes a nice stocking filler:

Or they do this amazing chilli honey which is a bit different - one for the men? https://www.numbereighteensuffolk.com/product/cold-smoked-chilli-honey/

They also sell candles which smell really nice and lovely gift boxes!

Unusual gift cards from a specialist shop that they'd like? I was surprised to see Rough Trade does gift cards https://www.roughtrade.com/en-gb

Papyrophile · 04/11/2024 17:45

@Poffy Corrymoor (not called that anymore -- they moved to Oxfordshire) used to make some that had a much less elasticated soft top cuff that work well for people who have swollen feet. Late FIL had heart failure and needed them, or his circulation was affected. The thinner socks are less tight cuffed too.

Poffy · 05/11/2024 16:09

@AnotherLongtimelurker Thank you for that link. DS's partner is cricket mad.
