Ideas to go with Anne of Green Gables book

Just that really! My lovely friend has mentioned how much she'd like to read the book again (read it as a child so doesn't have a copy) so I'll get her that for Christmas. Still got about £8 to spend so any ideas that might tie in? I've never read it so don't have a clue!

There are several of the books so she might like the next couple?

Get her the sequel, Anne of Avonlea as well?

There are loads of other books, the story girl or Emily of new moon.

The Emily of New Moon trilogy is way better than the Anne books, though Emily is a purple-eyed madam.

Or a slate?😀

A secondhand copy of the "Anne With an E" dvd (if she still has a dvd player).
Or as suggested - get the second book too.

A copy of the lovely Megan Follows adaptation if you feel like it, but not the execrable (and not remotely true to the books) Anne With An E.

A bottle of raspberry cordial and another of currant wine, raven black hair dye, some birch seedlings (Idlewild) or a cherry tree seedling (Snow Queen), a copy of Tennyson’s Lady Of Shalott?

If anyone can tell me where to find a Gilbert Blythe these days, I would like one.

There's 8 books I think and a follow up series. I have all the books from my childhood.

I also have What Katie Did. I vaguely recall Heidi too.

@CaneToad I will confess I gave up on Anne With An E after about 2 and a half episodes.

The short story books are very good. Not about Anne though. Chronicles of Avonlea and Further Chronicles of Avonlea. There are other short story books too.

Some little bits of food etc as mentioned in the book or just typically Canadian food maybe?

Or a lovely candle or similar along Canadian themes?

I used to be part of a book box club and each month you got a book, little treat ( lip balm, mini candle etc) a drink and a snack any everything was slightly themed around the book, they were lovely boxes to get

What Katy Did and Heidi have not aged well, I was disappointed to realise.

@jocktamsonsbairn - if you’ve not bought it yet, there are some really beautiful editions of AoGG out there. Maybe a nicer version rather than a tie-in gift?

All 8 were on kindle for 99p recently.

I'm actually reading it again now! First time since childhood. I love Anne and her scrapes.

Deffo not a naff thing like cordial or hair dye. But a Canadian linked candle or food like biscuits would be lovely and thoughtful. Though I’d go onto world of books and get the first 3 in the series cheaper to stretch the budget.

There is a lovely Anne of Green Gables cook book. I got a copy from Amazon.

I stole an idea online which is to match a lovely bar of chocolate with the cover of a book-it's quite fun hunting and looking for ideas!
