Cool fashionable Christmas playlist

I'd like to make myself a playlist of Christmas songs. Here's the vibe :
I'm wafting about London in a film montage of Christmas shopping. I'm really cool, i live in a houseshare with friends. the Christmas music is upbeat with a quirky edge. It's not really slow and depressing like a John Lewis advert. It's not mainstream or well known. I have no leads on this other than a Christmas album by Pink Martini and a song by She and Him. What tracks do I need?

I have about 3 different Christmas playlists cos I love it. Sometimes I want to be cool. Sometimes I want no lyrics. Sometimes I want all the Christmas cheese!

Surely the entire point of Christmas songs is that they aren't cool and fashionable?

I did once go to a Christmas meal where the background music was on a loop and it was almost entirely downbeat, miserable, lonely at Christmas type songs and my dog has died type of songs. It did kill the mood somewhat!

Well of course I like the cheesey ones but I also Love that pink martini album so I want more of that type. I like a smorgasbord of tunes

Watching this with interest for Jazz Age style suggestions to add to my Classics list on Spotify.

I already have two Louis Armstrong tracks - Cool Yule and 'Zat You Santa Claus? I also have Kay Starr Man With The Bag and Michael Buble Jingle Bells.

My list also includes The Darkness, some carols and some classical pieces.

I love the Pink Martini album although I am slightly baffled why it has a (Jewish) Hebrew prayer on a Christmas playlist 🤷‍♀️

If you like carols with a different spin, maybe Gaudete by Steeleye Span.

You might like the Putumayo Christmas albums. They have world music, jazz, blues Christmas albums. You might have to go old school and pay for the downloads though as some of the tracks are pretty obscure.

Josh Rouse has a Christmas album. I think it fits the brief! We really like it.
