Struggling for Christmas presents this year for female family members. I've asked directly if they need anything and they've all come back with 'not at the moment'.
Any tips will be great, so far I've got ton of shortbread, perfume, pjs, makeup wipes, gel nail polish, skincare.

Would love out of the box ideas!

I love the idea of getting a little hamper of things I use regularly but a better version of. So fancy teabags, a nice jam, a nice nut mix. Or I sometimes do little present piles of Christmas food. Mince pies, fancy Christmas crisps, Christmas chocolate. I do them all up in cellophane they go down well

Chilly’s or Swell bottle - they’ve got some beautiful designs
Fahlo tracking bracelet
Silk eye mask
Bath tea bags
Jigsaw
Hot water bottle
United Oddsocks box

My sister always finds interesting presents. She has sent me boxes of cheeses in the past. Ordered online. Either a one off or a subscription.
I've just found an online company that does a similar thing with different types of olives.
A subscription to a magazine is also good.
A personalised jigsaw made from a photograph.

Paint by numbers set for adults.

Cashmere wrist warmers, especially if they work from home.

Other than that consumables and experiences are generally what I go for so I'm not adding clutter to someone else's house.

I'm getting my mum and gran electric hot water bottles this year.

Billybagpuss · 18/10/2024 14:11

I swim outdoors all year, last year dd. got me a hamper with thick socks, a lined fluffy mat to stand on to change a hot water bottle, a woolly hat and scarf. Perfect for me.

Do they like gardening? I would do a garden hamper using a big/nice ceramic flowerpot with gloves/seeds/garden gift voucher/hand cream etc in.

Needmorelego · 18/10/2024 14:20

They might not need anything but what would they want ?
I want lots of things I don't need 😂
I want Lego mostly.
If they don't give you a suggestion buy them a paperback novel, chocolate santa and a tree decoration.

Not even charity shops can offload wrist warmers!

VioletCrawleyForever · 18/10/2024 19:06

I like

Nice moisturiser
Lavender sleep stuff
Gin
Amazon vouchers
Theatre vouchers
Nice smelly candles

I don't like food or chocolate gifts or clothing

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 18/10/2024 19:13

Sounds like a good year to stop giving presents or do a secret Santa with a decent amount of spend.
makes life so much easier and you can give and receive one really nice gift rather than lots of smaller token gifts.

Really? I need your bloody charity shops, none here and I can't get enough of them!

WonderingWanda · 18/10/2024 19:42

Things I will always want
Magazine subscription
Books
Pyjamas
Fluffy socks
Gin
Nice toiletries, I always like L'occitane but never buy the shampoo day to day as its so expensive
Chocolate
Fancy soap
Hand cream
Note books
Cook books
Stud or hoop earrings because I lose them all!
Hair bobbles because the cat or my daughter steel them.

MidnightPatrol · 18/10/2024 19:43

What’s the budget?

Sous chef do all sorts of lovely food gifts - you can buy a cook book with some of the key ingredients for example.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 18/10/2024 20:26

If people sentry don't want anything, they probably actually mean it, especially if they are a bit older. I'm mid 50s I have all the "stuff" I need, my hobbies are well supported, I gate candies/slippers/toiketries/wridt warmers. What I really like is nice versions of stuff I'd be using anyway, especially good food. I'm not going to turn down house plants or flowers either.

Itsmeamandaberry · 18/10/2024 22:26

Why do people always come out with "hampers"? I wouldn't never want a cellophane wrapped pile of Christmas Snacks mostly because I didn't like traditional Christmas flavours.

Here are a few things I would suggest to friends

  1. New lipstick and liner in my fav colour
  2. Nice bottle of fizz/wine/vodka
  3. Mini gift set in my fav scent from white company
  4. Nice box of chocolates
PermanentTemporary · 18/10/2024 22:33

I only want champagne, bar soap and books.i do like Bridgedale walking socks as well but now have quite a lot.
