I'd love to plan ahead and get my SIL something more thoughtful for Christmas this year.
She's mid 30s, enjoys reading, the outdoors. Wears understated jewellery and make up. Has 3 kids so also big into her coffee! Budget around £30/40.
Any ideas, please send them my way.

Some lovely soft wrist warmers and a Christmas themed book. Waterstones normally have a table/shelf of Christmas reads.

How about a silk pillowcase? In a neutral colour. Haven't got one myself, but heard they are good for preventing static in your hair.
Or an aeropress and some nice coffee?

With that budget, I’d get her cashmere socks, a newly released novel and some good coffee beans.

Chilly's bottle

Skincare from the ordinary?

How about a book subscription gift? I had one few years ago and loved it. There's lots on line, and there's even a second-hand book club one too. You can get her the gift card/box for whichever company, and she can fill in the details whenever she wants to start ir.

As long as it’s not anti wrinkle cream- some don’t take kindly to such gifts!

Good shout! I have one and it’s wonderful.

What does she like to read ? maybe the posters on the What We Are Reading might be able to recommend some books she would like if you know stuff she has enjoyed recently

HelterSkelter224 · 17/10/2024 20:39

Check out "literary lip balms", they do scented lip balms themed on classic books. If she doesn't wear much makeup she might appreciate these

Haha!
Their stuff is great and pretty universal so should get used regardless of skin type

What about a gift voucher for a local massage place?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 17/10/2024 20:43

One of those blanket hoodie/Oodie things. The Comfy is lovely. Bought one as a present recently for approx £20.

The adults in our family agreed a £30 limit for gifts a few years ago as it was getting silly when buying for all the adults and kids. Every year my SIL gets me something to read, something to drink, something to enjoy ( so last year it was a book she knew I’d like, a nice bottle of wine from the region I had been to on hols, fancy snacks).
