Oodie or fleecy top for student son

Student son is refusing to take his dressing gown to freezing uni room. Thinks it looks pretentious.

Any alternative ideas like a fleecy oodie or other top?

They will all be wearing Oodies, cheaper ones from kudd my or even cheaper from Primark.

However, he is old enough to go and choose his own one if he wants one, by all means give him the cash but don't buy it for him

That's one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read on MN, and I've been around a while😂
Of course OP can buy her son a hoodie, or a pizza, or whatever the hell she wants.
It's a lovely idea OP, my DS likes the really fluffy hoodies you can often find in the pyjama section of M&S, Next etc.

I’ve got all kinds of fleeces, fake oodies and so on, and there really is nothing warmer than a real Oodie, but they’re also really ridiculously bulky, so if that would bother him, something a bit more streamlined might be better!

A dressing gown for a student - they would freeze to death before wearing one, I can understand him.

DD loves her Oodie but it is very bulky.

I have some fleece tops from outdoor shops, Decathlon or Go Outdoors. With thermal tops underneath they are toasty. But obviously only until the waist.

Oh yes Smallblue, that looks ideal thx.

My son is not really into clothes and he won’t mind me buying one that’s navy or grey so long as it looks basic and not got some mad character on the front.

I think he’ll be freezing his arse off soon in his draughty old halls with the sliding up/ down window and will be glad to be swamped by an oodie.
