I need ideas!
I was thinking of making up hampers and personalising them to each person (mum, dad, MIL & FIL)
but I’m so stuck for ideas.
I’ve asked them straight up what can I get for them and all of them said they don’t want anything but I’d still like something for them to at least enjoy! They’ve done so much for us, I want them to know they’re appreciated

I would take ‘I don’t need/want anything’ as a sign they don’t want ‘stuff’ so personally I would avoid a hamper. I would go for an experience and something they can do after Xmas/new year. Depending what their interests are I would opt for an afternoon tea/theatre tickets/tickets to a concert. You can get these based on your budget as local places will do a reasonably priced afternoon tea or you can go all out with fortnum and mason. same with theatre tickets, doesn’t have to be a west end show, maybe see what your local theatre has on for the new year. My local theatre does a murder mystery evening a few times a year which includes fish and chips. It’s reasonably priced and something different.x

I used to make up a hamper for my mum every year, I originally bought a lovely hamper bag from Lakeland with preserves in and reused the bag in subsequent years. I enjoyed going to Lakeland and garden centres to get different edible goodies like jams, cheese, crackers, cookies, chocolates, nuts etc. Lakeland sell lovely things like bread mixes, seasoned oils and sauces at Christmas which always went down well. Mum used to bring out the food stuff when I or my siblings were there for lunch so we enjoyed the food as well!

Do they have a favourite local restaurant or cafe? Get them a voucher for that.

Depends on their interests but what about cinema tickets to the live streaming if The nutcracker or an opera or Andre Rieu ?

I don't like my adult DC spending money on us when they have so many other demands in their cash. However I know they will never buy nothing! Totally agree needs to be things that can be used up unless you absolutely know that they need something specific .

Unlike many on here I do enjoy a hamper that has been created for me so contains things I would enjoy.
Shows thought and effort: for me it would be some artisan crackers for cheese: chutney (love homemade); a decent jam; hand cream; chocolate; shower gel.

I love gin and enjoy trying different ones; ditto DH and whisky. We both enjoy receiving wine
