Advent Calendar - Maybe Rubber Ducks

The DC have decided they would like something a bit different for their advent calendars this year rather than the standard chocolate ones. I have already bought a Pukka Tea one for DD1, but need 2 others for DDs 2&3.

A few details:

  • They are 15&13
  • budget is preferably around £10 per calendar (not interested in spending much more than that)
  • Not interested in beauty type things

One DD has a funny wee love for rubber ducks so was looking at various advent calendars on Amazon. There are so many to choose from and they are likely all crappy Chinese tat, but was wondering if anyone had ever bought one and could recommend or discourage me from buying any particular one? They seem to range from about £10-£25 which seems like quite a range when they all look very similar.

Any other suggestions for DD3 would also be appreciated

My DM has bought my dd an advent calendar colouring book by Lindsay Small and it looks quite good. I'd like it myself!

ooh I might send my parents a Pukka tea one, I think they'd like that and they're so hard to buy Xmas presents for they might as well have something they'll use!
What sort of thing are they into? There's a few crystal ones and when I was browsing Amazon the other day there were some with beads in if they've caught the Taylor Swift bracelet making bug. Tbh though, I think for £10 unless it's edible it's probably going to be crappy chinese tat!

Personally can't stand rubber ducks. They will inevitably end up in landfill. It's just a total waste. But my hatred for them is maybe extreme!

@MiddleAgedDread that puzzle idea is genius! I want one now.

@JingsMahBucket I’m actually think these solve Xmas present ideas for a number of people!!

@FerminRomeroDeTorres

It caught my eye when you said that your DD loves rubber ducks.

There's a shop in Liverpool Street station which I walk past regularly and which specialises in selling ducks. I was amazed when I first saw it and wondered how much custom it would get, but there's clearly a market for ducks, as the shop is one of a small group.

They have their ducks online.

Thank you @TheSquareMile DD has indeed discovered that shop already - when we were on holiday earlier this year. She was in her element… until she looked at the prices!

Thanks @Forgottenmyphone and @MiddleAgedDread

DD1 (who is getting the pukka tea one) would love that colouring book, but DD2&3 not so much.

I like the jigsaw puzzle one and that could be a really good shout - thank you
