DS is a young 15. He has a phone, iPad and use of a computer and switch so doesn't need tech. Looking for some inspiration as I've no ideas right now!

Machine Works Build Your Own V8 Engine Toy - Replica Model Building Kit £49.99 from Smyth's toys or Amazon

Redragonoteal · 11/10/2024 20:00

He doesn't really have hobbies unfortunately. He goes to a couple of sports clubs but only because we insist on it. He has dyspraxia, so sport is a massive effort for him. He would spend his entire time gaming and on you tube if we let him. He hates school and if he thinks you're trying to trick him into learning he blocks, so anything like a coding course he would refuse to do. He's not interested in fashion at all and won't listen to music.

Cinema tickets are a possibility, as is that engine although I'm not sure he would manage to build it on his own.

Ds is a young 16 and will probably be getting:

lego
whichever of the new edition Dungeons & Dragons books are published by then
new snoodie (primarks version of oodie)
books
a watch might go down well

and in his stocking
D&D Lego mini figures
new ear buds
playstation vouchers
sweets
chocolate

definitely no toiletries as he’s autistic and considers washing himself a form of torture.
Also no clothes - and especially nothing branded.

GetDownkeith · 12/10/2024 08:57

@CoffeeChocolateWine i am interested in the history book if you don’t mind sharing. In fact I’ve got loads of ideas from your list 😁

CoffeeChocolateWine · 12/10/2024 10:49

@GetDownkeith, this is the book we got...

History book

ItsOhSoTiresome · 12/10/2024 11:38

Coffeechocolate,

Would that be a good book for an adult? I’m thinking of an older history buff.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 12/10/2024 16:24

@ItsOhSoTiresome, I would say so yes. It's a beautiful book and not in any way aimed at kids. It covers ancient history to present day and is beautifully illustrated. Loads of maps which are really interesting. The content is more of an 'overview' of world history, so I'm guessing a history buff would know a lot of it anyway but I would think it's a nice gift for an adult who loves history. There are other books in this range - the 'map by map' books...one on World War II and one on battles. Hope that helps.

i will get ds that too, looks like a lovely
book.

MissyB1 · 12/10/2024 19:43

New hoodie
Some kind of mens fragrance (don't know which one yet)
Power pack
New football
Pair of vans trainers

Gloschick · 12/10/2024 19:56

Does he do Duke of Edinburgh or explorers? (Explorers might be good to get him out of the house). Anyway, if he is into that sort of thing, a quality backpack is a nice present at that age, and should last them well into adulthood. Or a new bike if he is near his adult height.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 12/10/2024 20:09

@GetDownkeith, happy to have helped 😊

SplendidPendips · 13/10/2024 11:28

Mine is 14, but loved his waffle/toastie maker last year (would recommend getting a pack of waffle mix with it, easily available on Amazon etc). So this year thinking of either a slushie maker or churro maker. If he likes it, then popcorn maker is also a good one.

New bedding - duvet cover of theme he likes e.g. gaming, and/or fluffy blanket in same.

Magnetic dartboard and aftershave also popular.

Nanoleaf lights
Gaming fridge
Steam gift cards
Junk food hamper

Tickets to an event
