Eg those long tubes of pringles or jaffa cakes. Just looking for ideas to make the bigger kids' stockings seem bulkier when their 'big gift' is actually small, iyswim

The chocolate on a stick that you melt in hot milk- they were from Aldi last year.

Ditto marshmallows- they had a bag of Christmas shaped ones.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 01/10/2024 12:43

Jelly beans
Chocolate orange with a crochet/knitted Christmas cover on
Small Ferrero Rochers (I think you can get a pack of three)
There's small Guylian boxes in B&M I think
I've bought Turkish sweets and some others but they weren't amazing. I think maybe the others were a Japan mix... Obviously not memorable but was fun trying the different flavours in the moment.

Dc1 has a box of coffee sachets (specific brand).
Dc2 always has a pack of dairy milk bars.
Dc1 has a Starbucks chocolate coin.
They all mean specific things for them.
They all have their favourite wash bits (saves me buying any for a few months. New socks Or other clothes theyre running short of.

I get all the children in the family biscuits in a tube from Fortnum. Different flavours to choose from and the empty tubes get used afterwards for toys etc

A budget option for you would be something like these -

Dc1 loves trying noodles so he always gets a few new flavours. I usually put random drinks in too. TK Maxx can be good for unusual flavours and unusual snacks. We've had boxes of Turkish and Japanese sweets off Amazon before which went down well. They liked sharing and rating and trying to figure out what it was before tasting. Sainsburys world foods aisle is good too. Had pretty basil seed drinks in glass bottles and mushroom chocolate biscuits last year.

My mum used to put tinned lychees in mine. I may treat myself this year.

Dd is getting this Flumps cereal www.bmstores.co.uk/products/barratt-flumps-cereal-275g-404170

You can get a metre of Jaffa Cakes, or a Pot Noodle stack, also I’ve also seen a metre of shortbread before.

My eldest loved Oreos so this year I’ve got her a box of cookies in a different flavour and a big bar of Oreo chocolate.

Big Toblerones are nice and bulky! ‘Giant’ tube of Smarties. And a classic selection box is nostalgic in our house even though not like they used to be!

You can buy bags of Christmas shaped pasta from Lakeland. I have ordered one, but not arrived yet!
Walkers also did six packs of sprout flavoured crisps last year (and another Christmas related flavour that I can’t now remember) which would be a reasonably big package to wrap! So far, only seen Cheese Toastie and Sausage Sarnie as new flavours.

thesugarbumfairy · 01/10/2024 16:21

Mine like asian snacks. The kind you get in an asian supermarket and you aren't entirely sure what they are going to be.

FusionChefGeoff · 01/10/2024 16:49

Some disgusting flavour lurid pink pop in a glass bottle from our corner shop!

NorthantsNewbie · 01/10/2024 16:49

The metre of Jaffa cakes was underwhelming- it was just lots of normal sized packets inside a bigger cardboard box. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I felt strangely short changed by it.

I agree, B&M is good for this nearer the time. I desperately want the gift set with a Bisto gravy jug but DH won’t countenance it.

WWGD · 01/10/2024 20:14

oh yes I forgot that I want the bistro jug too. I am going to buy it for myself as a gift. Maybe you could do the same and pretend someone gave it to you as a secret Santa gift?

The bubbleolgy kits from supermarket. Bought a couple of the single packs of passionfruit ones to put in stocking last year and they were a big hit, didn't use the tea bag just the bubble pearl things and syrup and added lemonade and ice and dgd 8 loved them, they were only a pound or two.

Onebaldandonehairy · 01/10/2024 21:39

Dinosaur porridge from Amazon. Both my kids love it. It comes in sachets with dinosaur eggs in. When you add the milk, the eggs melt and the dinosaurs are born. 🦖🦕 my kids are 13 and 22 btw 🤣

Leeds2 · 01/10/2024 22:54

Dinosaur porridge sounds awesome!

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/10/2024 23:27

Mochi
Marshmallows (plus chafing tin to toast)
Flavoured popcorn (from kenji)
Bubble Tea kits
A yard of pringles
Seaweed snacks
Japanese canned drinks
Selection boxes (obviously)
flavoured candy floss sugar and a candy floss maker

goingdownfighting · 01/10/2024 23:29
