Wooden Castle / Princess Castle

Does anyone have any recommendations for a “Princess Unicorn Castle”? 😂

DD (5 at Christmas) usually doesn’t ask for anything but out of the blue has asked for a pink princess castle for her unicorns (Schleich Bayala). Can anyone recommend something that fits the bill?

I was thinking the pink Papo wooden castle or pink Papo cardboard castle?

Does anyone own either of these and have they had much play? Not really keen on buying a dust catcher!

Also, if your child has something similar, which age did they play with it until? It seems from talking to other parents that many seem to grow out of playing with toys pretty early now?

I’ll hold off until closer to the time to buy.

thank you

We used to have a Melissa and Doug castle that got lots of use. I don’t think that one is on sale anymore but comes up on eBay and marketplace sometime.
Theres a wooden castle in hobbycraft which is plain for decorating if you don’t mind a bit of diy.

Thank you - I know the one that you’re taking about - it’s a pretty large fold up one? I found it during my initial search & couldn’t see any locally second hand but will keep looking.

What was the age of your child(ren) when they played with the castle? Just trying to gauge if she’s a little too old? (Sounds silly as she will just be turning five and is my little baby).

Asda did a brilliant one a couple of years ago. There's a few on Gumtree.

That looks fantastic, thank you! Did you have this one? Does it fit barbie sized dolls or smaller figurines?

we are looking for ones that fit Schleich / papo figurines.

Thanks

Yes that’s the one. I bought it from eBay. It’s actually still in use not sure why I said used to have it! It was bought for my sons 2nd birthday (he’s 7) he wouldn’t go out of his way to play with it now but if I’ve done a little set up for them he would join in. His younger sister who is 4 has now took it over. So it’s definitely had its use here.

Definitely smaller than Barbie.
I can't do links but there's one for sale on eBay where the seller has taken photos with a tape measure. Try "wooden toy castle, furniture and family". We had the whole set with the King/Queen and the furniture.

Fantastic- that’s really helpful. Thank you. What age range did they get use out of their castle?

I can't remember exactly but I think DD received it for her 5th Birthday.

Are you worried about the age ranges because of the price? If so, it may be better to go down the second hand route (charity shops often have dolls houses) then it doesn’t really matter how long she plays with it for. All kids are different and their interests change at different rates so it’s really hard to predict what your child will like in a year or two just based on what another child did as they’re all so different!!

If she doesn’t usually ask for anything and has specifically asked for this then I would assume that she really wants it and would play with it!!

Not wood but we got DD a playmobil princess castle at that age. It was a huge hit and she had several playmobil horses, knights, other princess people to go with it thanks to grandparents knowing about. Schleich is slightly bigger but will fit and you can always add on with other sets.

But - if you go the playmobil route, do assemble in advance. DH and I spend around 4 hours over 2 evenings getting that bloody thing up (plus an hour each drinking to recover from the ordeal). We hit it under a bedsheet for her to "unwrap" but it meant, she could play straight away.

I think she played with it until around 8.
