Starting a thread as need some new ideas for my Y6 & Y9 boys and thought I'd also share some things they've liked up to now

Fishing Guidebook - both boys love fishing and watching Fish with Carl on YT - his book has been a huge hit and I ended up buying them as cousins gifts too. It's one of the few books my two have read without a fight.

Noodles advent calendar - UPF bonanza - but my eldest loves this last year

Y6 desperate for a "farming simulator steering wheel" this year - which I hope will be a Black Friday thing Confused

Then I'm on to just updates of what they have - Y9 just grunts when I ask him (could just go with that and not bother at all?)

My boys are similar ages Y6 and Y8. Both Fortnite fans so I have preordered the Lego Fortnite sets. Eldest wants a new phone and youngest needs a new iPad as he uses it loads and the button on it is broken, we’ve already had it repaired twice before.

Also on the list are switch games and pop figures. I’ve bought a mini snack fridge for eldest and will fill with cans of pop and snacks for his room. Youngest is having a slush puppy machine which I got on Vinted.

12 year old but has SEN. Will also be getting Lego, he listens to audio books to fall asleep so I'm getting some new Tonies (things like Roald Dahl that are officially "6+" but he still likes them).
Other than that I'm hoping inspiration strikes. He likes Lush, and has a few book series he follows so crossing fingers one of them comes out soon.

Hurray: just found Loki book 4 is out. Must tell DH not to buy it yet!
He has a very early Jan birthday too.
He wants to go on holiday to a water park for his birthday but I think it might have to be UK! Apart from Blackpool, any recommendations (we are NW)?

Thanks - might be a bit far but he'd probably regard a Premier Inn as a treat too!

Have you been to wildshore, there is one in Cheshire? Aqua park & other water based activities. It’s outdoor though so not sure if it would be open in Jan….

drspouse · 21/09/2024 12:17

Eek, not in Jan! But a good idea for a summer day out.

Oh I forgot they usually get pyjamas or onesies. But the year before last DS refused to try his and last year I couldn't find what he wanted so we went to John Lewis before his birthday and he chose the right one.
We'll probably do that in Nov this year and keep it for Christmas Eve.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 21/09/2024 17:36
