I’ve got Google fatigue so please help!

i want to treat DH with something to do rather than stuff because he’s super fussy and just gets the stuff he needs/wants through the year.

we don’t have any childcare for weekends and struggle to take annual leave together due to the school holidays so I’m trying to think of something different we can do altogether as a family.

DC are 3 and 6 so it’s tricky finding something to suit us all. We’ve done centre parcs and last time we went it wasn’t great but if anyone has any ideas of family friendly resorts, days out or something for all the family i’d appreciate any thoughts!!

Have you done Legoland? My DH loves Lego and so was like a big kid at Legoland, and your dc are a good age to go.

We used to go to a place called Drusillas near Brighton. Mini zoo but with other kids stuff.

They also do animal feeding and zoo experiences.

You could do something similar and have a family day out but get DH a penguin / sloth / whatever feeding for him to do while there?

Bluestone Wales - my friend enjoys it there with her family and Warwick Castle now do overnight accomodation as do some of the safari parks

What about a National Trust membership? It’s really cost effective for a family. Your dc are a good age to enjoy all the trails they set up (indoor and out) at the properties and they usually have lovely grounds (great for tiring them out and a good run around in open spaces). Plus then wherever else you visit often you can do an NT place nearby for no extra cost. (And the cafes are usually really good.) ☺️

Those all sound more like gifts for the kids! I’d be a bit peeved if my Christmas gift was a trip to a mini farm!

Cant you get him an experience he would enjoy and he can go himself or with you & kids cheering him on? Skydiving & the like?

Would DH like some sort of Zookeeper experience day? These can last for 45 mins, to several hours. The animal experience would be special to DH, but the rest of the family could enjoy a day at the zoo and watching daddy at the same time.
Trip on a steam train, to somewhere nice to spend a weekend away.

i was looking at Bluestone that seems like a good idea!

yeah I’ve done that before he’s had driving experiences and things but he says he prefers doing stuff as a family sometimes becwe don’t get loads of time together because of other commitments.

Steam train is a great idea I think I’m going to book that! We did Llangollen before and he loved it.
