I love all the Christmas adverts and often start a thread when they come out

Saw this today about John Lewis!
Will keep an eye out on 9th September!

I haven't 'loved' a Christmas advert for a while so quite excited to see what this year brings!

Has anything been released about the theme for the John Lewis ad this year?

@SnowJamz I've not seen anything yet but they do have this cute little guy come up in the Christmas section online!
Could just be a random plush or he could be linked! They do usually have merch to link with their adverts!

Not sure!!

I had a look at the preview , it's along the lines of (from what I could make out ) that Mum gives her daughter A Jumper which is not to her taste ,
So she goes along the "Thank You" but secretly thinks "What were you thinking when have I ever wanted a jumper that Barbara Cartland would wear?"
And leaves it on a chair , in a closet . gets food on it , "cannot wear it 'cos I;ve dyed my hair pink"

Then years later finds it , don;t know if Mum is still alive , but falls in love with the jumper because her Mun gave it to her with love .

@70isaLimitNotaTarget Yes, sorry, should have been clearer. My not sure was a not sure how good an Xmas advert it was going to be, not a not sure on the plot.
I totally agree with you in your synopsis. Just not sure it's going to be sparkly and festive enough but I guess there is a lot more they can do in 3/4 minutes!!

Not sure how the jumper linked particularly but like the ad!

and my second favourite would be

I can’t watch it without crying. I am being treated for cancer and have a “little” sister who is far more grown up than me. We have this every year about gifts. I honestly thought the older was dead when I first saw it. It’s how my mind works these days 😀 plus I am Brit pop era and it’s one of my favourite tracks. Yes it’s a sob fest and I’m here for it.

I think it's the best for years.
