Trying to get organised!

What do people suggest for fun Christmas things to book for 9 year olds? Both London wide (anywhere easy to travel) and anything else sweet and more local (north or east).

We’ve already booked Christmas at Kew!

We really like London Zoo Santa visits, but we are members, so it’s not that expensive for us to go (you get a free stuffed toy so basically pays for itself).

Greenwich often has a lot of stuff on as well (Maritime Museum, Curry Sark, Observatory).

There’s the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green.

Depends how far up north. Alnwick Castle at Christmas and light trail are worth a look, as is Beamish at Christmas.

I thinks she means north/ east London rather than the north east.

There’s also the Museum of the Home in Hoxton which has a series of rooms through time.

Hi, if you're looking for a grotto, I've just written a list of all the London ones currently on sale: https://museummum.com/santas-grotto-london/

We've tried a few over the years, so let me know if you'd like any recommendations. This year I'm hoping to try the new Eltham Palace one.

Apart from Father Christmas, we also like:
SKATE at Somerset House
Walking the Christmas lights - the West End, Annabels, Covent Garden
Attending a Christmas Light switch on - these haven't been announced yet, I like Belgravia
Christmas at Kew is our favourite London light trail (I see you've booked already)
Hogwarts at Christmas is magical
Curling at Kings Cross
Kingston Christmas market is on my to do list, it's meant to be the best one in London
Westminster Abbey's festive family day (date tbc this year)
Seeing the Natural History Museum dino with his festive jumper on

There will be lots of local smaller events and family activities which haven't yet been announced (see my post for last year for an idea: https://museummum.com/free-christmas-london/)

Hope this helps!
