Best Christmas Lego Set?

I have a vision of a fun family activity with the teen and tween- starting up an annual Christmas tradition of building a Lego model….

Has anyone any recommendations? A gingerbread house? Train? Santas workshop?

If you can get your hands on one, the house from home alone wins hands down.

Lego release a new Winter Village set each year - usually about £100 or so. You could start collecting those.

We used to do this until Lego sets cost 200 and took the dcs about an hour and a half to make.

We do a Christmas jigsaw instead now!

😆 that’s maybe a good alternative!! I was thinking the stress of actually building might descend into WW3 and teen dd would strop off or tween DS would rage quit and Chuck the lot onto the floor… leaving me drinking wine and listening to Xmas music alone building Lego on the floor! 😆😆😆

I'd love to spend all Christmas present money on Lego Diagon Alley for everyone, but we'd have nowhere to display the models.

Maybe make it an annual tradition where in future years you build it during advent, display as part of your usual decorations and then put down till next year?

We get the new winter villlage set most years and build a scene with those and various other buildings and a train track.

Some of the sets come with the instructions split over 2-3 booklets and corresponding bags of bricks so they can be worked on separately, which is nice.

We splashed out on the Home Alone house last year and had loads of fun doing it. We did a bag or two a day and it took us about a week to build. It's really expensive though, we don't usually spend that much on a set. It was really special though.

There was a £40 discount on this on Zavvi not sure if it's still on but I managed to buy it .

Best sets are the winter village , there's a new release for Xmas every year and you can build your own street scene .
