Starting to think about Christmas presents and really stuck for 17 year old ds.
He has lots of cash as he works and doesn't spend!
He is into gaming so I will get some PlayStation credit.
Doesn't drink, no real hobbies.
Any ideas or hits from last year?

My DS is 15 (nearly 16) and he still loves lego, my brothers do as well (and they're in their 20s and 30s!). A bit hit with all of them is the Pokemon lego (it's technically MegaBloks, but there's a Pikachu that you can make run which is really good!). I gave everyone a ticket to comic con last year as well, and we all went together with partners + kids etc. It was gaming geek heaven lol

He’s 17. How much does he need? You say he has lots of cash etc.

Teach him the importance of not wasting money on rubbish he doesn’t want.

Use this as an opportunity to wind down buying him lots at Christmas. Just get a few generic bits and focus on having a lovely Christmas Day together not worrying what to get him for Xmas in August.

Bizarrely, last year my teenagers all had a coverless duvet! They all were very happy! They also had exercise stuff - weights, etc. other things they like are hair products and silk pillow case

I second Lego. My DS likes the Star Wars Lego.

He still enjoys the traditional stuff like dressing gown, lounging about stuff like Oodies, as long as they are comfy and not kiddie looking.

Other hits, aftershave, fancy headphones, a waffle maker and sports brand t shirts.

Maybe I'll get lego, I assumed he was too old but possibly not.
Waffle maker is a great shout, I think he would love one
@lorisparkle how do you wash a coverless duvet? Literally wash the whole thing?

The coverless duvets are fantastic. I wish we had had them when the boys were little. They easily fit in the washing machine and dry really quickly - in the summer on the line and in the winter I throw them over the bannister.

My DS is 16 and into sport, gaming and history. Some ideas or things I know he would love...
Nike trainers
Aftershave
Mystery football shirt (he collects them)
Gaming voucher
Something hobby-related (football/cricket/golf)
Visit to Bletchley Park (possibly overnight)
Curry kit
Football match tickets
Driving experience
Clothes
Sweets/chocolate hamper
I always buy him a book in the hope he'll get back into reading at some point - thinking maybe an autobiography of a sporting personality. Recommendations welcome!
