I have gone and done it.. first Christmas present for 2024 purchase

I just wanted to share the above really 😂. First present of 2024 purchased. I managed to wait until June and also it was a stocking filler that was an absolute bargain. Would have been criminal to have left it on the shelf. Anyone else buy small knick-knack present throughout the year then squirrel them away? I usually then have difficulty remembering all the squirrelling places 😂😂

Well done! 😄 I feel the excitement with you.

I can raise you - my Christmas tat that I recently bought but that I love for my 70s, 80s Xmas theme that I want this year!

I do - I've picked some stocking type bits up for my dd and I'm looking for croc sale emails to grab a bargain.

Ds likes Lego so if I see sets at sale prices or 2 for x then I pick them up through the year for birthdays and Xmas. The trick is finding them all again at the right time 😆

Unfortunately I purchase quite a bit of Lindt chocolate that was on sale, a good idea for stockings, but kept at the back of the fridge.
I have eaten it.

To be fair you need to check that it’s not gone off. Food hygiene is very important.

Fairyliz,
I will take your sage advice. There is a lonely bar of Lindt salted caramel causing me some concern...

OatFlatWhiteForMe · 05/06/2024 13:30

Two stocking fillers and a book purchased so far!

gardenmusic · 05/06/2024 13:37

Melzbelz, I have been purchasing the odd bit since January sales!
Quite a few long dated fizzy drinks. I won't be tempted by them.

hby9628 · 05/06/2024 13:42

Yay! I always pick up a couple of bits in the post Xmas sale in Boots. I've seen a few things crop up recently but I'm staying strong & waiting this year.
I love Xmas shopping.

gardenmusic · 05/06/2024 14:16

I have my wrapping paper, too it was 10p a roll!

BakewellGin1 · 05/06/2024 19:59

I've bought oldest DS a padded Gym King winter coat and joggers then youngest a dressing gown and superhero onesie as they were ridiculously cheap and I'd only end up buying then at full price later on in the year

I never seem to find Lindt chocolate on sale.. which maybe a good thing in my case. Love that stuff.

Waitrose at present!

QOD · 06/06/2024 07:05

I’ve finished my daughter’s stocking and main present shopping. Plus her birthday that’s just before Xmas …
in my defence she’s in Australia and her visiting us in September. Her boyfriend is my secret pack horse and sneaking it all back in his case.
I’ve had to stick to small stuff obvs. But that means jewellery and 🔥 💴 😝

Lesleymumof3kids · 07/06/2024 23:50

I buy bits n bobs that are stocking fillers etc throughout the year ...From January sales onwards ! Only realised what hubs advent calendar added up to after all miniatures of singular malt whisky were added up! I bought 1 or 2 each month..kids bits are more expensive now they are teens , but they love kid crap in stockings ( tattie gun went down well last year) only problem about pressies bought over the year is if they don't like it and can't exchange or someone gets more than others!

Bonbon249 · 07/06/2024 23:59

Yup, I buy over the year too - I have a designated place for mine apart from the two long furry hot water bottles that are accessible. They're gifts for friends who live some distance away so no chance of them being spotted.

Underestimated4 · 08/06/2024 07:27

I start in October with the aim of being finished and wrapped by 1st Dec, I love Xmas so I want to enjoy the “Xmas month” and not stress about the presents.

Jiski · 08/06/2024 07:47

I always buy some things in the January sales!

I love the shops at christmas, so I tend to buy my stocking fillers and a little gift for myself then.

Charliebradbury · 08/06/2024 10:59

I bought a christmas story book (what the ladybird heard at christmas) from amazon today for £1.75. Couldn't pass up that bargain. Probably should focus more on ds actual birthday which is in 3 weeks though haha

VibeOnWithMyGalPals · 08/06/2024 11:22

I meant to buy in the January sales but just didn’t get around to it. Aldi had wrapping paper for 10p, I must remember that for next year

I have notes on my phone for Christmas 2024.

I have one present bought for teen dd - Rio de Janeiro perfumes set were on offer on Look Fantastic.

I’m going to continue buying whenever I see special offers. I keep everything in a secret Christmas cupboard in my bedroom 😁

JuicyPears6 · 08/06/2024 11:39

I have been on holiday, so I bought some presents on my travels

Years ago when I did a lot of travelling my poor mother used to receive a lot of very strange liquers!

Does DD like Ted Baker? Offers on Boots on line at present.
