Every year I read about the amazing food bargains people manage to bag on new years eve.
I'm not doubt anything tomorrow and I think this is the year that I down a energy drink, sharpen my elbows and grab my bags for life!
Any advice? I was thinking of heading there for about 2pm?

Oooo I didn't know this, but tempted to join you! Elbows at the ready 😂

There were fantastic m&s bargains on Christmas eve this year, I filled my freezer! It was actually all very civilised and no elbows needed, I was surprised how pleasant it was.

OldTinHat · 30/12/2023 15:21

Me too! I had in my mind about 2pm as well but wondered about going at 1pm, having a look and, if nothing, have a coffee in the cafe and keep an eye out.

I think reductions normally start around 2pm on a usual closing day of 6pm, but I may be completely wrong. I love a yellow sticker in the food hall!

OpalOrchid · 30/12/2023 15:23

M & S usually do there final reductions between 3 and 3.30. They might do them earlier tomorrow though.

OldTinHat · 30/12/2023 16:17

Just heard from a couple of friends who were in there about 2pm today and have bought masses of stuff. Obviously closes at 6pm today, but 4pm tomorrow.

I was just in m&s and they already had reduced some things and the dates were ok. I got double cream reduced to almost half price and the date was 1st Jan - had to dig a but but they had all sizes and loads left. Going to use it on new years day anyway so will do us.

ThequalityoftheReps · 30/12/2023 17:35

There was LOADS of things with yellow stickers on today in m&S so you may have missed the boat OP. Good luck.

I got 9p beef once, I still talk about it now! We don’t even eat beef! 😂literally my best bargain ever!

I had no idea this was thing but we've been in today and basically half the shop was yellow stickered, my best purchase was the Christmas chocolate pine cones for £3.75, they were £15 full price!

Blueberrycreampie · 30/12/2023 18:19

I got an actual Christmas Cake for £2 yesterday in Waitrose!

OldTinHat · 31/12/2023 13:38

I've just got back!

Car park was full, they've done the last wave of reductions and stuff is going fast.

Got some bargains though so I'm very pleased. Things like posh ready meals for one, normally around £5 each, got several foe £1 each. Happy shopping!

I bought these at Christmas. No-one managed more than a spoonful. They are SO sickly. Be warned!

ICANTSPEYK · 31/12/2023 15:36

We had them on Christmas Day and enjoyed them which is why I bought them again, we actually commented that they were less sickly than you would normally expect a chocolate dessert to be...

Went this afternoon. It was rammed inside. Got a few salads reduced and lots of ready meals. Best buy was a large family sized cauliflower cheese reduced from £6 down to £1.62!
