So that's 9 of us down with norovirus within one week..most coming from last night and today!
Anyone else's Christmas been tarnished by noro?!
Myself and dd had it last week, just dp left standing

Yep. Myself and DM are down with it. Strained relationship with DM as it is, and now she's in our bed feeling so ill.

Jeez.

TrickyD · 26/12/2023 17:20

Our DS1, his DP and his DS were due to arrive on Christmas Eve to stay until 28th. Phone call from DS1 early on 24th to say that he and DP had tested positive for COVID. Visit cancelled, great disappointment.
Apparently lots of COVID in their area, Chiswick. Hope it doesn’t spread and get out of hand.

Yep, I’ve been in bed with it since Christmas Eve and no signs of improvement so far. How long did yours last, @whereisthe ?

We’ve had to cancel everything- Christmas dinner, grandparents visiting. Feeling pretty sorry for myself right now.

whereisthe · 26/12/2023 18:46

Ahh so sorry to hear everyone. We were lucky in that we dodged Christmas Day (apart from my dm who fell ill late evening) but all plans cancelled today.
@MegBusset mine lasted 3 days! I had a day of just non stop d&v for hours and the next day just a bad stomach. Came with feeling completely wiped out afterwards too Sad
It's so contagious too - another family member has gone down with it already after yesterday!
There's a lot around here in my small town in Hampshire

DH has gone down with it now.

I've been asleep since 8pm last night and thankfully feel better today. Although I haven't actually got out of bed yet!

LancashireSquirrel · 27/12/2023 07:38

Hope everyone is feeling better today.

DS just had to dash home to care for his partner who is so ill she can't care for herself. She's a nurse who worked over Xmas so don't know if she picked it up in the hospital or at some relatives she was with on Xmas evening.
He is understandably worried about getting it but couldn't leave her totally alone. Feel for him.

Ethelswith · 27/12/2023 13:42

It’s gone round DH’s workplace - at least 12 off with it

He wasn’t in close proximity with the afflicted, so I’ve got everything crossed

Struck down with flu and couldn't get out of bed Christmas Eve. DD (3) also ill and both had sickness too. Managed to get up some of Christmas Day with several naps. Still feel shocking and not been able to taste anything, nor any appetite. So disappointed as I look forward to Christmas all year long and wanted to make it extra special for my DS (5) and DD.

Ohchristmastree23 · 27/12/2023 14:07

Another here who's been ill over Christmas, with fever/flu. Started Christmas eve, powered through Christmas day with lots of medicine but boxing day was awful. Still feeling ill now and feeling very sorry for myself. All my Christmas food is just sitting there but I can't eat any of it 😭. In my parenting groups it sounds like a lot of people have been ill over Christmas with one thing or another.

MegBusset · 27/12/2023 14:10

Day 4 of noro for me. Still running to the loo every 20 minutes, though have a tiny bit more appetite today. Have lost 5lb in four days which is a bit drastic! Hoping everyone feels better very soon!

buckingmad · 27/12/2023 14:16

Yep. Went to labour ward thinking I was in labour. Threw up twice in one hour and given anti sickness as worried about being dehydrated for baby. Came home at 1 and I’ve been asleep since. Feel completely wiped out. Have at least stopped being sick though.

whereisthe · 27/12/2023 15:16

That's 13 of us down with it in my family! Most of which in the same 48 hour period.
I hope everyone gets better soon
