I could eat another dinner (yum!) but I think it will push me into bad guys territory! What will you be eating this evening?!

We never have Christmas dinner till around 5, so everyone’s too stuffed to want another meal. Anyone who’s a bit peckish later can pick at cold turkey/gammon/cheese/mince pies etc.

We had Christmas lunch at 2 and just had a takeaway (curry) for dinner.

How?

How?

Quite easily. 😆

We started dinner around 4 with starters, main course an hour or so later and we’ve just finished dessert - Christmas dinner is a spaced out affair, if anyone wants any snacks they know where the kitchen is.

I'm currently eating Stilton and olives washed down with red wine, pretty decadent

CheersToAMerryChristmas · 25/12/2023 21:00

Contemplating the cheese - Stilton and Brie.

DumpedByText · 25/12/2023 21:14

The only acceptable food to eat is cheese and a nice bottle of sauvignon blanc!

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 25/12/2023 21:16

@Jk987 I was thinking the same thing re @SouthLondonMum22 having a takeaway a few hours after her Christmas dinner - but then I remembered that I did the same thing myself on Saturday!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/12/2023 21:17

Nothing!
We had bacon butties at 10. Pastries after at about 11. Then Christmas dinner at 6. I'm stuffed!

toomanyleggings · 25/12/2023 21:17

dH made M&S party food nibbles, turkey sandwiches, pate and crackers, plus some turkey and stuffing sandwiches. I’ve not managed the sandwiches though. Stuffed

Daffyyellow · 25/12/2023 21:18

The plan was brown bread, mayo, Turkey and cucumber sandwiches with ready salted hula hoops on the side . . . Only DD1 ate all the `hula Hoops, not realising they were embargoed until the 25th and I’m still too full from lunch, chocolate it is then!!

LuluBlakey1 · 25/12/2023 21:19

We are having tea and toasted, buttered panettone with lemon curd. That's all. Ate too much at lunchtime.

LubaLuca · 25/12/2023 21:21

I've had a handful of Pringles and a bit of leftover dessert. I was planning on a huge plate of cheese and biscuits, but realised it would have been a waste of good cheese - I'll have that tomorrow when I haven't been such a greedy pig at lunch.

RumNotRun · 25/12/2023 21:46

I haven't been hungry much today since my epic over consumption of pain au chocolat this morning, but still had Christmas dinner at around 2 and have picked at leftover veg and roasties on each trip to the kitchen since. I feel very full and know I need to diet, but I suppose at least I've been snacking on healthyish food. (She says, desperately trying to avoid the temptation of tiramisu panettone)

Relativelydifficult · 25/12/2023 23:29

Didn't have full dinner today.
Grazed M&S party food through the day. Delicious.
Cheese tomorrow.
Veg on Wednesday Grin

MerryChristmas23 · 25/12/2023 23:33

I've snacked on left over pigs in blankets, cheese and crackers, and chocolate. Forgot to get the bread out of the freezer this morning so will have to wait until tomorrow for turkey sandwiches

LuluBlakey1 · 25/12/2023 23:49

We had no leftovers tonight- have bern to PIL.

I'm making a meal for PIL and DH's grandma tomorrow afternoon. Sort of buffet style but at the table, 2 pasta dishes- a feta, spinach, mushroom, nutmeg and gruyere lasagne, and an aubergine, tomato, mushroom and onion bake- with two different salads- one green and one with carrots, nuts, beetroot, herbs and spring onion, and lemon new potatoes and homemade herby coleslaw. Then a homemade lemon curd pavlova and a cheeseboard.
It's all done apart from the salads and putting the pavlova together.
I think we'll be eating leftovers for days .

shellyleppard · 25/12/2023 23:53

Cold meats, pork pie, coleslaw and crisps. And the last of the gateaux from Christmas lunch 😊😂❤️
