What sides with seafood platter?

I have a lovely seafood platter with lots of cold fish, and a marinated side of salmon that I will serve hot. Any suggestions for sides? I want to do something other than potatoes and was thinking of something rice based and roasted veg, but not sure what! My adult children have huge appetites and will demolish the seafood very quickly!

Nice bread, salad, some kind of rice pilaf?

Celeriac is good with seafood so maybe a remoulade

Bread and a remoulade sounds fine. I don’t think roasted vegetables and rice really go with a seafood platter, it would detract from the lovely seafood. I would just have that, and then put some nibbles out for the hungry people before and after.

I do think a warm Scandinavian style potato salad is perfect. Light crème fraiche and mustard dressing. Dill and chives. Perfect off set to the oily fish.

We have a seafood platter later once we get back from pub as part of a buffet that also has homemade sausage rolls, mini sausages, cheese etc, fresh baked bread, salad, homemade coleslaw.

Selection of salads, avocado, beetroot, Waldorf etc.
Large bowl of couscous and chickpeas with raisins, diced celery, pomegranate seeds, flaked almonds, and a light creamy curry dressing.
