Do I take the toddler's presents?

Hi all. We have a two month old and a just turned three year old, first Christmas she's really going to "get it". We're off to in laws Christmas Eve, Christmas Day with just them, boxing day there with more family, then off across the country for quick Christmas with my side and then off home

Presumably, there will be presents on Christmas Day, boxing day and the next day.

We'll take the stocking which has little bits in it as she's very excited about Santa, but, do we take there main presents from us with us? In laws usually go overboard and all the toys there will be quite novel as we haven't been for a year .
Then we could have another Christmas back home with just us and the next lot of presents.

I'm thinking about packing as well as overwhelm. Any experience of Christmas with a three year old?

Is the stocking from Santa? Has she asked for anything specific from you, if she has I would take her main present, otherwise if she knows she's got other presents waiting at home your daughter might keep asking when you're going home.

@2dogsandabudgie yes stocking from Santa. The things she's most excited about are coming from Santa and her baby sister so was going to take them. But what we're giving them both will be unexpected, so wondering if she'll miss that she hasn't got anything from us

We do main Santa presents at home - regardless of where we’re spending Christmas. As soon as we know where we’ll be for Christmas, we start prep’ing the kids so they know what’s happening & remind them they’ll get their Santa presents at home. Family are close by so we tend to have on Christmas Day morning at home then go to where we’re spending Christmas. If kids don’t open all presents in the morning, then they know they’ll open them on Boxing Day or day after, depending on plans. Our kids love this way of doing it.

I'd take one present from you, yes. She can open that on the day, after the stocking.

Never got presents from my parents until Santa was no more. Didn’t notice at all.
I would hold some back and do some when you get back. For one, you’re going to have to get it all in the car coming home too unless you have set some pretty strict guidelines with family?

Edit- just realised it is irrelevant by now 🤐

At 3, the entire concept of presents being given by specific people is a bit of a blur and a mystery IME. They just get excited because there are presents.
