Those of you who shop at Tesco or Aldi, where is the brandy butter this year? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. It's 20 Dec and I still haven't had a lick of it because I haven't seen any in store!!! Help!!

End of aisle is where ours was (Tesco). I bought some ages ago as it's good until January if you don't open it too early 😋

There were loads yesterday in my local store (Tesco) - there is a Christmas aisle with all the chilled party food etc.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 20/12/2023 06:36

Our Aldi had it on a shelf above the milk!

WonderingWanda · 20/12/2023 06:37

I found brandy cream on the end of an aisle but not brandy butter. I wonder if I can whip it into butter?

GoodVibesHere · 20/12/2023 06:37

What do people use brandy butter for? I like brandy cream and will have a dollop on a mince pie but I've always wondered about the butter.

NoTeaNoShade · 20/12/2023 06:37

Know it's not what you asked for, but Waitrose have brandy butter in if you're able to make a diversion.

RunningGearOn · 20/12/2023 06:39

I have no idea where it is in stores but I recommend making your own, it's a 5 min job and you can make it as boozy as you like. Literally just butter, icing sugar & brandy whizzed up. You can make as much or little as you like. Outlay for brandy is the only expense if you don't keep it on hand.

I’ve been looking for the Birds long life stuff in a carton and can’t find it anywhere.

liveforsummer · 20/12/2023 07:03

Surely just ask a member of store staff if you can't find it?! Tesco seem to have the best Xmas range this year so I imagine they have it

SantaBarbaraMonica · 20/12/2023 07:08

I make mine! It takes 2 mins to whack a shot of brandy and pile of brown sugar into some butter. It’s probably my fav thing at Christmas! My mum makes a lovely soft Christmas pudding and I put dollops of brandy butter on it.

QueenOfThorns · 20/12/2023 07:11

I don’t know, but if you do an online Tesco shop it comes up with the fresh cream, so maybe it’s in that section in store too?

I’m confused as to why you would have normally expected to have eaten some by now, though? We only usually have it with the pud on Christmas Day!

Home bargains, saw it yesterday

Mine is just soft light brown sugar, unsalted butter and brandy. It’s delish.

MegBusset · 20/12/2023 07:30

At Aldi it’s with the cream and milk.

MegBusset · 20/12/2023 07:31

Tried to make my own last year and it was harder than you’d think! It kept splitting.

BaconAndAvocado · 20/12/2023 07:31

They've got 2 types at M and S!
Standard and more expensive!

DeadButDelicious · 20/12/2023 07:35

In our Tesco it was in the salad/veg section on the end of the aisle in what I presume was a little refrigerated cabinet thingy. Smallish tub, red label. 👍🏻👍🏻

LuckiestMumonthePlanet · 20/12/2023 07:39

Our Tesco keeps brandy butter in the cream & milk section. It’s a mid-size store.

BigMamaFratelli · 20/12/2023 07:44

Got ours from Waitrose this year but I've also made it in the past. I can thoroughly recommend it on a croissant if you haven't tried the combo before. Incredibly rich and definitely not something I'd do often, but a lovely Christmas treat!

GettingStuffed · 20/12/2023 08:46

I agree about making it, butter, twice the amount of icing sugar, whisk together until light and fluffy add brandy to taste. If it splits just carry on beating

Lulu1919 · 20/12/2023 09:26

Tesco was in the cream aisle
