First time I’m going to do one. What do people serve with there’s as was thinking our standard New Year’s Day tea would probably be too much.

Pickles, cheese, sourdough, crackers, dips.

Bread? Fruit? Pickles?

Salami, prosciutto, nuts, chutney for the cheese, big Camembert in the middle and bits around for dipping? World is your oyster with a charcuterie board. I would keep a good balance of cheeses (varied, one soft), a nice crusty loaf (part baked ones in the oven always turn out well), plum/chilli/branston chutneys, cold meats (on a separate board if you have veggies), tomatoes, olives, celery and carrot sticks for dipping…can you tell I’m fantasising about a charcuterie board now 😂
If you’re serving for NY I think it’s a good opportunity to clear out any half opened bags of crisps and nuts.

Thankyou. Sounds like all I need really is a French stick with the cheeses and fruit. Was thinking initially sausage rolls, quiche, mini sausages and that type of thing.

Always cornichons, a good chutney, good bread and remember the butter. Will be amazing, enjoy

If you know your crowd will love a charcuterie board, then bread, pickles, crudités etc. will probably be enough. I know enough people who would just pick at bread and cucumber sticks though, that unless I was certain of preferences, I’d have more substantial (and possibly hot) sides like you’re suggesting. Theres a fabulous recipe by Ottolenghi for sticky pigs in blankets.

Definitely cornichons and bread

If you want some veg then things like artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, crudites, cherry tomatoes.
