Fake Pandora - can anyone tell?

Stupidly, STUPIDLY bought Pandora charms from a website that looked exactly like the Pandora site, which I found through Google.

Once I got the confirmation email I of course realised my error 🙄 £92 and a week later it’s all arrived. I bought 4 altogether.

The charms do look nice and it’s come with all the bags etc but I just can’t give this to my daughter if they’re fake.

Can anyone tell if these are genuine or not? They all have S925 on them.

Sorry the pics aren’t great I’ve realised. Would a shop be able to tell me if they were okay? I still need to go in there and buy a bracelet for them, so would be making a purchase.

Easy have a "fake pandora" site so must be big business, glad you got a refund, it could be the bank intervened if its a known fraud scam

No they have bracelets made to fit Pandora charms but they are not actual Pandora made bracelets

Mirrormeback · 20/12/2023 06:36

There is no loop to attach the charm to a bracelet from what I can see on the Christmas 🎄 tree photo you posted

Bit of an odd update. The company have just refunded the £92 into my bank … ?!

That's a relief

I was gifted fake Pandora before (I think it was also an accident) but I knew immediately.

Some Pandora charms have a hole in the middle for the bracelet to go through.

Glad your bank resolved it OP.

That's great! Do you still have to return them?

I don’t think Etsy would knowingly enable selling of fakes. However they might sell charms that fit Pandora bracelets, and vice versa. This is fine as long as not Pandora branded, and made clear that not held out as Pandora.

Mirrormeback · 20/12/2023 06:57

No they won't expect them to be returned because they're fake plus they haven't asked. They know some will slip by and others won't it's the chance they take

@KingsleyBorder yes I realised that once I'd posted but the the charm does look very flat in OP photo

Just stick to buying from the actual shop or their actual website. Any 3rd party reseller is likely to be dodgy

My daughter has a fake Pandora bracelet and charms from Etsy and they are all branded Pandora.

Wow I just looked. WTF has happened to Etsy? It is supposed to be a site for small craftspeople to sell hand made things isn’t it?

It’s just gone to crap hasn’t it. Half of it is just stuff people buy at B&M and take nice photos of.

I found something sold in argos on there for twice the price!

Yes and it’s exactly like that, even the writing on the back.

I'm going to get her a bracelet and charm set in store, and then give her these charms but let her know they may not be real. She can do as she pleases then can’t she.

But that is not in itself so bad if it’s handmade. The real issue is how an anti-brand, handmade items marketplace became somewhere that people would go to for fake branded items. I did a bit of digging and it seems that Etsy are being found to be one of the world’s largest retailers of counterfeit goods, yet claim to have a specialist team dedicated to stamping out fakes. What kind of rubbish specialist team can’t find these fakes by putting the word “Pandora” into their search engine? It’s shocking Reuters piece here
