Husband is going on 24th. He likes food shopping, I hate it!

Haveallthesongsbeenwritten · 17/12/2023 13:11

Delivery on Thursday! But i already bought everything for xmas dinner pretty much and its in the freezer!

AlwaysForksAndMarbles · 17/12/2023 13:12

I’ve got one delivery on Weds and the last one on Saturday. Anything not fresh will be in Wednesday’s order, with just the fresh things on Saturday. I never like to leave it until Christmas Eve in case loads of things are out of stock. My having to go out into the hell of a Christmas Eve supermarket to fill the gaps defeats the whole object of getting deliveries!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/12/2023 13:29

We've got a delivery coming on Thursday and then I'll get fresh bread, vege, cream etc on Saturday.

Most of the one coming on Thursday is cheese.

Pistolpunk · 17/12/2023 14:20

Probably friday morning. Wont have much to get just fresh fruit, veg and fridge stuff etc.

Alargeoneplease89 · 17/12/2023 14:22

Friday morning

grayhairdontcare · 17/12/2023 14:23

Tesco delivery coming Thursday
Christmas food collection from M&S on Saturday

Hmmthatsgoodchicken · 17/12/2023 14:23

Early morning Saturday.
But those people going Xmas eve don't forget it's a Sunday so big shops are limited to Sunday trading hours (where it applies)

MintJulia · 17/12/2023 14:24

23rd at 7am.

Veggies, bread, dairy and anything I've forgotten.

ThreeRingCircus · 17/12/2023 15:08

I have most things in the freezer already, including the turkey. We just need the fresh vegetables and things like milk, bread etc to see us through for a few days so I'm planning on going first thing on the Friday or Saturday morning.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 17/12/2023 15:14

DS1 and I are going Friday morning
We're not having a roast, just keep it coming party food done in an airfryer so we're all happy with what we can find
Just me and my 3 adult DS's so very relaxed

applebee33 · 17/12/2023 17:51

I'm wondering when to go too, usually the 23rd but that's a Saturday this year and it's going to be mental isn't it !? Even at 7am

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 17/12/2023 18:53

Food order to pick up from M&S Saturday after work and an order to pick up Sunday from sainsburys. Already purchased food and freezer bits, drinks, extra condiments, loo roll cling film etc. I ordered extra cravendal 7 day milk which has 28th on in it. So it's just a few bits of fresh fruit, veg and the odd bits I've missed to buy now and I'll probably do that sat just before I pick up my order from Marks.

jelly79 · 17/12/2023 21:50

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 20/12/2023 07:44

Looks like sunday might be quiet then!

dottiedodah · 20/12/2023 07:56

Going Friday morning ,get up 6.00 am ,get there at 6.45 and it's still quiet . get the right size Turkey ,everything we need ,home by 9.00 ,unpack and have a nap!

WhatHaveIFound · 20/12/2023 08:00

Click and collect for all non fresh foods today, then first thing Saturday for the veg. We're having chicken not turkey so no panic there.

inappropriateraspberry · 20/12/2023 08:06

Did mine on Monday. Just a couple of more perishable things to pick up at the weekend.

ApolloandDaphne · 20/12/2023 08:08

I'm thinking about going this morning. I might not be able to get everything but I am okay about going back for some bits over the weekend.

MissBuffyAnneSummers · 20/12/2023 08:13

Delivery coming in 23rd

NoWordForFluffy · 20/12/2023 15:45

Delivery on 22nd, together with the Booths collection. Morrison's, Sainsbury's and cheese shop collections on 23rd (plus a couple of beers in the village when we collect from Sainsbury's / the cheese shop, as it's his birthday!).

stargirl1701 · 20/12/2023 15:53

Sat morning

DrunkenKoala · 20/12/2023 19:25

Another one who has most things. Pick up food order Saturday morning and then got a Sainsbury’s delivery Sat afternoon for fresh fruit, veg, salad, dairy and bakery. That delivery should see us through from teatime on Saturday to lunchtime on Weds 27 when I’ve got another delivery booked to see us through the rest of the week.

Fuckitydoodah · 20/12/2023 19:30

I've got most things for Xmas Dinner already in the freezer. I have a delivery booked for tomorrow for fresh bits, bread etc. I've got to pop and do a small shop for an elderly relative on Friday, so I'll grab anything that doesn't come in the delivery, hopefully. I'm not panicking if there's stuff we can't get. We'll just have to make do.
