Cath Kidston sale 90% off absolute SCAM - do NOT use this website

There is a very convincing Cath Kidston website, name of cathkidstonofficial [dot] uk.com
I had my basket loaded up with (it turns out, too good to be true) items. I'm usually very canny but it was my daughter who noticed that there was no contact details given for the company, and a description page had just the wrong tone to be legit.

I've found a few threads on this website going back to August - people have lost money. I can't believe it's still going!

My daughter has reported it to Next (who now own CK). She spoke to their fraud dept and said they seemed shocked. Personally I'm shocked that they wouldn't have has this flagged up massively, after 4 months in action at least.

Well done to your daughter! I hope they get shut down.

DamsonDress · 17/12/2023 11:40

I had a bunch of £9 PJs in my basket last week.

It seemed way too good to be true and the uk before the dot was weird so I googled. Yep. Scam. Tbf at the prices they were offering I should have known.

Good you posted here though.

This (almost) happened to me a few weeks back with a Jellycat scamming site, it was uncanny and I couldn't believe my luck with some of the bargains!

It wasn't until I searched for a free shipping discount code that noticed there were no search results for the website.

Felt like an absolute muppet but glad I caught myself on, just in time.

On a positive note I now check all sites on a scam-checker now.

BrassCandlestick · 18/12/2023 22:06

What scam checkers do you use? I checked Trust Pilot and was shocked to see that there was only one review for this particular site. I added another.

If I'm unsure on a website, I go to the brands social media and they always have a link to the website on there x

Mellanie2 · 31/12/2023 11:56

Did anyone get their money back? I've stupidly fallen for it 62 pounds down..... Told I have to wait 15 days...

Citrusandginger · 31/12/2023 12:11

I was on Uniqlo's website yesterday and they have a banner across warning people about fraudulent websites.

I can imagine it's becoming quite a thing.

Ginisatonic · 31/12/2023 12:17

I saw a Joules fake website recently. They can look quite convincing. But the giveaway was not just the ludicrously low prices but they had every size in stock in their supposedly sale items.

greengreengrass25 · 06/01/2024 15:38

This site recently popped up on my Facebook

Can't share link but had Next in the title

black7304 · 07/01/2024 09:34

Who do I report this to as I am £150 down 😢
I am usually good at spotting a fake account but I think the Christmas cheer 🥂🥂clouded my judgement. I paid on my credit card so I have frozen 🥶 it

Shmarock990 · 10/01/2024 17:14

Me too! It was so realistic and I was in a rush and just paid for the stuff. My credit card company are disputing it but I’ve just received some knock off raybans in the post, hope they are not going to say they delivered my “package”

Shmarock990 · 10/01/2024 17:15

Did you call your credit card company? I cancelled my card and got a new one. If it’s visa you can open a dispute after 15 days 30 for Mastercard

Liz42 · 12/01/2024 17:52

Thanks for posting, just had this page prompting me of Facebook. Glad I checked.

Bigfood · 13/01/2024 22:37

Yes it definitely is a scan I was caught for £33 but it could have been more only I purchased on the 2/1/2024 when I really didn’t need anything

NannyAnabela · 16/01/2024 15:30

I have just report it, but they have changed domain.

I was fooled by this, I did eventually get my money back via my bank but I was warned that if anything was delivered...no matter what it was, would count as a delivery and I'd have to go through returns. My bank said it was the top scam website after one pretending to be Wilkos. They did try to use my details to buy skincare but I was notified via my banking app. Scumbags!

Rebecca2096 · 17/01/2024 23:06

Guys I almost got caught tonight. They now go by www.cathkidstonsalesuk.com‘

I typed my details in (stupidly) but it said payment failed. Just to be safe, I froze my card and have requested a new one from the bank.

MNHQ edited post to remove live link to scam site

I found three just after Christmas. Bastards. Facebook was advertising one of them.

Gabshite1234 · 21/01/2024 13:22

Hi :)
How did you request refund? I’m only thirty odd pound out and was second guessing myself if I had even put in the order as never received an email confirmation.

I was gen going to put in another order - more fool me! - but it’s come out of my account as “Payfly Hoteum” & I’ve no idea how to request refund or flag complaint.

Thanks.

Shmarock990 · 21/01/2024 17:05

Did you buy on your credit card? I called the fraud team and they put me through to the right people

Morgag3 · 21/02/2024 14:31

I fell for it and am over £47 out of pocket! I used a credit card but not reported it. Has anyone got their money back?
