Due to collect next sat evening as I was working an early now I am working a late shift so can't collect it. Just phoned help line and they can't change the date or time.

If I arrive in the morning will I be able to collect or will it cause a nightmare for the staff which I defo don't want.

Noone else can collect it for me.

I saw a very upset woman in this situation last year - they did not let her collect it. They did let her use the £30 deposit she'd paid again a shop thou so she got stuff from the store and abandoned her pre order.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 17/12/2023 11:06

Nope, I tried this last year, you can't do it.

Mirrormeback · 17/12/2023 11:10

Why don't you visit the actual store asap and talk to them and come to some sort of arrangement in advance

mylittleprince · 17/12/2023 11:11

I saw someone trying to do this one year. They are all packed onto the trolleys in their collection times so they can't get it out earlier without unpacking the whole thing. Do you not have anyone that can collect and leave outside for you at this time of year I reckon it would be ok in some freezer bags for a few hours.

This was what I did and the answer was still no. If they could do that there wouldn't be much point in having timed slots.

Our local branch is so strict, they wouldn’t let me collect ten minutes early. I think, like pp’s have said, it’s because everyone’s orders are stacked according to times, so it would cause chaos to change, which is fair enough.

I think your best bet is to try and do what @User1775 saw happen, and hope you get a kindhearted staff member who does the same for you.

Sunshineandrainbow · 17/12/2023 12:22

I have asked customer service if I could just cancel and they can't even do that.
If I don't collect they said I won't get money back it would go on the shop floor to be sold or given to charity.

why did your shift change, any way you could swap back or leave to go and collect it?

Sharedcupboard · 17/12/2023 15:55

Ours don’t even let you upstairs to the collection area outwith your booked time.

Fairylightfurore · 17/12/2023 16:12

Can you pay someone to pick it up for you?

Floralnomad · 17/12/2023 16:16

Can you not go in early / late to work or collect on your break .

Newuser75 · 17/12/2023 18:38

Would someone you know get it for you?

Anjo2011 · 17/12/2023 18:43

Def no at my local store too. They put you in a queue for your allotted time and bring the stock out at that time.

Sharedcupboard · 17/12/2023 19:57

Do you know a local teenager who might pick up for you if you have them some cash OP?

Sunshineandrainbow · 18/12/2023 08:26

Thanks everyone.

Won't be able to get out of work.

But could think about asking someone to collect.
No local family.
I also have a real strange problem about asking people for a favour/help. It's strange as I love helping people!

At least I now know changing the slot is a defo no.
