Help please! No idea what to get DH and running out of time!

Long time lurker on the Christmas threads but need help please! I have no clue what to get DH. So far he has a beanie hat with a light in it and a giant bar of chocolate.

He likes football (watching/playing and also coaches a team). Likes gaming (but was his birthday recently and I got him the latest game he wanted). Likes cider.

Doesn’t read much, no other hobbies, wouldn’t be interested in stuff for the garden / car / bbq.

I am completely out of ideas and nearly out of time! When I’ve asked what he wants, he can’t think of anything either.

I don’t want to buy just for the sake of it but he’s already put a couple of large-ish presents for me under the tree so I need to get something!

All suggestions appreciated 😊

Gig tickets. Indoor skydiving or skiing.

Football shirt? Football boots? Does he read? Experience day?

2dogsandabudgie · 16/12/2023 15:51

Just seen he doesn't read much, but would he enjoy a magazine subscription?

Retro football shirt for his favourite team?

BIWI · 16/12/2023 15:56

Does he support a premier league football team? Most of them have merchandise on their websites, and a lot of Christmas-themed stuff.

Or there are lots of sites like this one, which aren't run by/affiliated with a specific team.

I've bought DH a membership of Curzon cinema (the cheapest one!) which I think gives him a certain number of free tickets, as well as a discount at their bar. (You can buy similar things for other cinema chains).

For a friend's 60th last week, I went to an independent craft beer shop and bought a range of ciders, those you can't get in pubs. Other ideas, a distinctive tankard to go with the ciders - If he likes to watch football, what about the heattech thermals from Uniqlo or M&S, very different from the thermals of old and DH is a convert, so much so he asked for different colours - Or a new kit bag for his sport's gear.

Wenchelda · 16/12/2023 16:10

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. A retro football shirt for the team he supports might be a good idea - I’ll have a look. Also heat tech thermals would be useful for all the time he spends outside training / playing the team he coaches. A tankard and some craft cider is also something he’d like. Off to Google now .. at least I have some ideas of where to start looking! 😊

My DH asked for a Waterstones gift card. £I've got him one with £100 on it. He'll be made up, as he thinks it'll have £20 on it.

floofbag · 16/12/2023 16:41

Do you have a wood burner / fire ?

I bought my dh a handheld chainsaw as one of his gifts .. looks great fun !

floofbag · 16/12/2023 16:42

I also got him Lego

Back to the future car and a Porsche one ( he has a Porsche ) do any of those ideas help ? Many go on mankind website and see if there is anything gaming he might like .

I always forget about menkind but they have good things on there. Thanks for the reminder! I can hopefully get sorted now 😊

DH is not a footballer, but sieves a lot of time outdoors. I've got him a waterproof, fleece lined Aviator hat.

floofbag · 16/12/2023 19:01

Menkind 🤦‍♀️.. sorry autocorrect .

All sorts of fun men stuff in there . My dh loves it !

mrssunshinexxx · 16/12/2023 19:03

An experience for sure

Tickets for a show / gig / comedian

My Dh is impossible to buy for. This year I got him a proper Norwegian turtleneck knitted sweater for £125.00. It's really lovely and quite elegant.

Previous years I have bought him magazine subscriptions for Private Eye and The Spectator and before he went teetotal a case of his favourite red wine.

RedRobyn2021 · 16/12/2023 19:22

Does he like fruit ciders?

My DP loves Lilleys Cider, they have a mango one which is divine. I often get him a selection for birthdays and Christmas

willyconker · 16/12/2023 19:36

This site is really good for retro football stuff, covers most of the football league too, not just PL.
