We've got the tree up and decorations, all looks beautiful.

Finished shopping and everything is wrapped and ready.

Starting getting food in.

Just not really feeling it this year. Watched a cheesy Xmas film today to try and get in the spirit. Not even enjoying the Christmas songs, which I usually love.

Not sure what's different this year, quite happy to go with it but can't say I'm excited either.

Sometimes it just doesn't stick.

You do the same things every year but it doesn't have the same effect sometimes.

Could be due to too busy to take a breath and look around and enjoy it.

Could be due to other things going on.

You can't force it unfortunately.

For some reason this year, despite illness in our family ,a car accident, busy busy busy, I am feeling incredibly festive.

Maybe it will arrive for you next week. Relax?

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

It doesn't feel like 5 minutes since it was last Christmas so that probably doesn't help.

Maybe try scents.

Stick cloves in an orange

Maybe you've just realised the ridiculousness of it? It's just an over commercialised event.

Go to a church Carol service, that always does it for me

Go to a church Carol service, that always does it for me, or try and find a Salvation Army band.

I'm learning to accept that not everything about Xmas I'm gonna like. I don't feel very xmassy, but I never do really. However, it's been nice to have an odd Xmas tune on, on the radio at work. I've been to a couple of Xmas fairs and markets including York. I enjoyed them, but still didn't have that Xmas feeling (whatever that's supposed to feel like). Just had a Xmas dinner today at work, paid for by the boss, which was lovely, but again, It felt like a nice Sunday dinner lol
I've tried watching Xmas films, but it's not for me at the moment. So instead, I've enjoyed movies that I like, including all The Jurassic World movies, All the new Planet of The Apes, Speed and The Day After Tomorrow. I have my new slimline tree up which is pretty, but like I say I'm learning to just do what I want to do and not what I'm expected to do. I can totally relate to the M&S Xmas ad, when it says to do Xmas your way. There's no right or wrong way, anyways. Just unnecessary pressure we put on ourselves.

I felt this way last year for no particular reason. This year I'm really into it - it's ok to have an off year, I don't think these things can be forced and sounds like you've already really tried getting into the spirit.

I think the weather is part of the problem for me. Wet, but not really that cold. It doesn't feel festive, just miserable.
