Unbalanced stockings. Help!

What are the young teen equivalents for boys please! My DD has a larger stocking pile- things like nail stickers and varnish, hair bands. What can I balance it with for my DS14?

Both getting same stationery (split the packs in half), bubble bath. Each have main present/toy/book/socks. Will split a pack of chocolate coins and handful of nuts each. It's just the really easy to buy for DD bits that I don't have anything equivalent for DS.

I buy deodorant razors shower gels etc

Overhauler · 14/12/2023 08:23

My boys are 10 and 17

10 year olds stocking has a shark attack bath bomb, a light up pikachu, a safe can with voucher inside and he gets a large plush each year that is sat next to his stocking

17 year old also has a safe can with voucher, large bottle of favourite sweets, keyboard cleaning slime and mini working Henry hoover for his stocking

PuttingDownRoots · 14/12/2023 08:26

Rubix cube?
Does he play sports... popping a couple of gum shields in DDs as she chews them! Or shin pads?

OneMoreMyWay · 14/12/2023 08:44

No, he hates sport unfortunately.
I'd feel a bit mean putting in deodorant.
His toy is a mini Henry! I don't want another toy as then DD won't have as many toys. Maybe I'm over thinking this!

Soap on a rope, little sample size moisturiser, hair clay stuff. Mine were both boys though so it was easy to just add in things like tubes of pringles, cans of coke etc

Small Phone battery charger
reusable water bottle
Bike mini repair kit
Cookie cutters/ pancake - unusual shapes

StrawberryWater · 14/12/2023 08:51

Fidget spinners?

Or one of these:
Socks / slippers
Hat and glove set (you could even get some led gloves)
A joke book
Yo-yo
Playing cards
Small lego set
Fake tattoos that glow in the dark
Exercise dice

StrawberryWater · 14/12/2023 08:52

Or a duel usb charger

Onionsmadeofglass · 14/12/2023 08:55

Lego keyring?
His own nail clipper set if he doesn’t have his own.
Razor if he’s shaving/not far off needing to shave.
New comb, hair gel/mousse/wax if he uses it.
New pants or a t shirt.

Rockfordpeach · 14/12/2023 09:06

I put in gloves, festive socks, a bottle of prime, a box of his favourite chocolates, pens, a mini monopoly game, a mug and some sweets in dss15 stocking

OneMoreMyWay · 14/12/2023 09:08

Nail clipper set is a good idea. Thanks!

My ds is 11. We’ve got him a Nike air pod case, body spray, sweets and choclates, prime, bobble hat, wallet

PegasusReturns · 14/12/2023 09:11

I have boys and girls. Once they got to teens i had to stop trying to be “equal”. Both my girls love make up, toiletries, jewellery, body spray etc etc. but the boys are are not interested in the equivalents. Body wash is a necessity not a treat.

some ideas for teen boys:

Starbucks/deliveroo vouchers
water bottles
Power bank
charging cable
aftershave
silver/leather jewellery
Sneaker wipes
croc headlights
sweets
belt

Twopintsprick81 · 14/12/2023 09:30

Novelty socks (chucky,Michael myers,Freddie kreuger😬)
Hair wax
Tweezer set to stop them stealing mine
Sharpies
Emo style jewellery
Croc shoe charms
Enamel pin badges related to the band/TV show they like
Plectrums for the one who plays guitar
Pacman keyring(it's electronic so can play it)
Stickers for phone/laptop
Extra long USB cable

Plus some of their favourite chocolate like chocolate orange, giant Toblerone etc

WeirdPookah · 14/12/2023 14:08

Snacks, noodles or sweets from an Asian supermarket are fun and different.

TokyoSushi · 14/12/2023 14:13

DS is 13, he's getting a Lynx style set, mini aftershave, Lemon Prime, Liverpool FC calendar, Guinness Book of Records, Jolly Ranchers, Mike & Ike sweets, chocolate and I'll have a look around Sports Direct for bits like water bottles, a ball of some description etc.

TokyoSushi · 14/12/2023 14:14

I've actually found this age a bit easier than I expected when I started, his main presents are basically the contents of JD Sports & an X-box voucher!

TokyoSushi · 14/12/2023 14:15

Also agree that girls are so much easier for this type of stuff, lip balms, pocket mirrors, stationery etc etc, much easier & cheaper!

Theoldwoman · 14/12/2023 14:15

Novelty socks
Pack of cards
Yo Yo
Travel mug
Mouse pad
Mini torch
Cologne
Wet hairbrush
Lights for room
Novelty pen holder for desk

Makkacakka · 15/12/2023 08:04

I used to get a new toothbrush in my stocking. There's nothing wrong with getting deodorant! Or body spray, or any other toiletry. They're useful by that sort of age!

Skinnydecafflatte · 15/12/2023 08:24

Some of you guys must have big stockings!! Ours have had them for 10 years, they’re quite small so I have to look for smaller items.
DS14 this year will have
Reece’s pieces
keyring torch
lynx shower gel
those spot patch stickers (he’s very into skincare!)
blackhead remover nose stickers

I usually get a small selection box and individually wrap up the bars. I might be able to squeeze a bottle of Prime in and maybe a scratch card (yes I know he’s not 16!).

Will have a read through to get a couple more ideas maybe, there’s usually nothing really of value in there.

Howmanysleepsnow · 17/12/2023 19:31

Keyboard cleaning putty
Waterbottle
astronaut pen
fidget keyring
underpants
