Yay! I’ve wrapped all the presents 🎁

Never done that before! I’ve bought and wrapped every single present. I did have some extra time this year when dc were in school and I could spend a whole day sorting and wrapping. I also did more online shopping this year so saved some time there too. Normally I am literally wrapping on Christmas Eve night!

How are you getting on with all the wrapping? Are you super organised and wrap as you go? Or is it still in bags waiting to be done?

I’ve got eleven left to wrap. I detest wrapping presents with every fibre of my being, but gift bags just don’t give the excitement of ripping the paper off. I am normally sat wrapping presents and muttering darkly on Christmas Eve, while getting steadily plastered on red wine, but this year I’ve done two presents a day, and I’m on track to have them all done by Tuesday.

MammaWeasel · 13/12/2023 18:35

I'm all done! Yay!

ilovetea14 · 13/12/2023 18:37

I finished wrapping on the 1st of December, I was so happy to have it done. I don't wrap Santy presents. The kids have a sack each with their name on it they all go in the sack, they also have a stocking each I just put sweets in the stockings.

SkaneTos · 13/12/2023 18:41

Well done, OP!
I have wrapped most of mine, I think I have 1 left to wrap.

WhineyVaginey · 13/12/2023 18:44

Just doing mine - but still have a few things to get! I've been real sensible this year, not like the time I drank a bottle of Bailey's & thought I'd wrap THEN write the tags & put them on. You live, you learn.

ChristmasIsComing2023 · 13/12/2023 19:06

I’ve just finished wrapping dp’s presents and ds’s presents from Santa 😋 I finished everyone else’s last week! I just need to wrap all of ds’s presents from us and assemble the photo calendars when the photo’s arrive!! 😃

blackfluffycat · 13/12/2023 19:31

It took me 7 hours to wrap both dds. I spent way too much but it's mainly clothes, make up, skincare, pjs which I should be buying anyway I suppose, just not so much of it!!!

Hibambinos · 13/12/2023 19:34

I have loads to go !!! 😭😭😭hate wrapping and try to put it off every year!!!

ChainBastard · 13/12/2023 19:38

Just stockings to do here, and they're just in tissue paper so less effort.
Very pleased with myself!

housethatbuiltme · 13/12/2023 19:42

Mostly wrapped.

I have 7 things left to wrap (but only 2 are for the kid) but I have wrapped 35 so mostly done.

HappyCamperTent · 13/12/2023 19:43

I have done zero wrapping! If i do it to soon I forget what I’ve wrapped

Madameprof · 13/12/2023 19:45

Haven't started wrapping yet, been too busy but need to get it done before the kids finish school on Friday 😬

MrsDilligaf · 13/12/2023 19:47

The only things I need to wrap are a couple of things I need to pick up tomorrow.

DH on the other hand...he'll be frantically wrapping on Christmas Eve.

Fern86 · 13/12/2023 19:47

Haven’t started 😂
but my gift tags don’t arrive until the 20th and busy with work until the 23rd so that will be wrapping day! With wine and Christmas movies of course :D

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 13/12/2023 19:59

Did them all today. Quiet with meetings and boys at school so got them all wrapped and hidden away again.

Chickydoo · 13/12/2023 23:07

All done here, 3 left to buy, 40 gifts wrapped & labelled...the relief

Morewineplease10 · 13/12/2023 23:13

None!! Hoping to wrap on Saturday.

TomatoSandwiches · 13/12/2023 23:17

I did mine today, DH does the shopping for the children's Christmas stockings from " Santa " and wraps them up in tissue but he usually does it Christmas eve, no doubt I'll be roped in to help him now.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 13/12/2023 23:26

I've wrapped all the gifts for under the tree (although a couple still to arrive). And I've done one full stocking; two lots of stocking presents still to wrap. Definitely on target though. Feeling quite relaxed.

caringcarer · 13/12/2023 23:36

I'm normally up until about 2am.on Xmas morning wrapping. This year most of it is done because last weekend, the only weekend in December all my 3 adult DC and DGC are available, so I did fake Xmas. We all went to paint Xmas baubles. Got back and I cooked a full Xmas dinner with all the trimmings. My DD and DGS's, my eldest son and his lovely GF all exchanged gifts and opened. I've not given my youngest son or Foster Son because I'm spending Xmas day with them. Then we played games with DGC, and on the Sunday we took dogs for a long walk and watched a Xmas movie about Santa's helper puppies. So now I've only got my youngest son, Foster son and DH gifts to wrap up.

KnottyKnitting · 13/12/2023 23:46

I wrapped the first batch in one go at the end of November. Then all the others have been wrapped as they are delivered. Just waiting on a few orders but pretty much sorted.

One year we waited till Christmas Eve to wrap - we were still going at 1am. Vowed Never again!

clary · 13/12/2023 23:48

I'm pretty impressed with myself - I have wrapped most things that are here (a couple not yet wrapped).

Awaiting delivery or pick up of about half a dozen more things; plus I still need at least one more big item for DS2 and I need to make a couple of food gifts.

Need to post two parcels so I better get moving on that. Tho we have had two parcels delivered after 9pm in the last week, so couriers are clearly putting a shift in atm.

Lol @HappyCamperTent the struggle to remember what is what is real! I always worry that I will put a big-ticket item in the santa sack and then a pack of underwear will appear under the tree Grin

Planning on starting tomorrow evening once the kids are in bed- partner working in the evening so I’ll have a few hours to myself to get a start made.

I do all the wrapping in our house as partner does about 98% of the Christmas dinner which a fair exchange if you ask me!

I made a huge mistake a few years ago- left wrapping until late on Christmas Eve and was still up at 5am doing it. Never again.

Last year I was better with wrapping but still left assembling various toys until Christmas Eve which I won’t be doing this year. I’m pretty quick at putting things together but they always take longer than you think and before you know it, 3 hours have passed.

So yes, will make a (hopefully) big dent in the wrapping tomorrow night and finish it off on Saturday night and hopefully get all assembly done then too.

I still have 5 presents to arrive in the post but I would much rather have 5 things to wrap than the whole lot.

Dizzy82 · 14/12/2023 00:05

I'm off round to my mum's to wrap up tomorrow evening. Our son is 18 Christmas Eve so I've double wrapping to do and got birthday and xmas wrapping paper. Usually the hardest part is splitting presents into the two piles!

ChristmasLights23 · 14/12/2023 08:14

Oh yes one of mine has a Christmas birthday too. I’ve wrapped them too, just need to get them a cake nearer the time.
