What’s a good couple gift?

My brother wants a surprise for Christmas - so I said that’s fine but if might not necessarily be a good one 😂

I want to get a joint gift for him and his girlfriend but I’m not sure what and wondered if mumsnet might be able to help?

They’re late twenties, enjoy food, drink, games, travel.

Any ideas much appreciated!!

Do people still have ways to play dvds?!

JennyForeigner · 09/12/2023 18:52

I've bought marble pastry boards for couples who like to cook. A bit swank and a bit pricy to pick up for yourself, but were welcome gifts.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 09/12/2023 18:53

What's the budget?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/12/2023 18:59

Do they have children? If so anything like a spa or theatre tickets needs to come with an offer of babysitting.

Footprintsinthesand · 09/12/2023 19:01

I just got my BIL and SIL a photo canvas of their children. Half price on photobox at the minute. Add some sweets and job done!

BrieCamera · 09/12/2023 19:17

Twister and a bottle of rum :)

ramonaquimby · 09/12/2023 19:31

Oops. Awful link but this is a great book. I know lots of travel research is done online, but it’s a really nice book for ideas and a flick through.

A voucher for their favourite restaurant?

Althenameshavegone · 09/12/2023 19:39

If they like travel the Board game “where in the world”

voucher for a restaurant

hamper from a local wine shop?

Knitily · 09/12/2023 19:39

We love to give and be given cinema vouchers, either to a local indie or a chain depending on budget/what's near the couple. Wrap the vouchers up with a bag of popcorn - it's a great, flexible gift

ISeeTrees · 09/12/2023 19:42

Spicery type gift set? You can get them with different themes but all the spice blends to make different types of curries.
Cards against humanity? Depending on their sense of humour!
Following for more ideas for my siblings!

FizzyStream · 09/12/2023 19:44

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 09/12/2023 19:49

Or walking with wolves- we also did that! 2 different places obviously!!

SnackyOnassis · 09/12/2023 19:59

My sister and her partner are very similar - last year we got them tickets to Guys and Dolls at The Bridge, this year they're getting a raclette set with half a kilo of decent french raclette cheese! I'm actually a bit jealous of this year's gift, tbh..

Roselilly36 · 10/12/2023 06:01

Voucher for a bottomless brunch.
