Looking for something we haven’t done already. We usually do elf, arthur Christmas, home alone and nativity but kids now 11 and 13 need something new. Is die hard ok for 11?

Miracle on 34th Street

Christmas Chronicles

Christmas chronicles
get santa
and, yes, die hard is fine- but not a Christmas movie!

Yumyi · 09/12/2023 15:58

I just looked up die hard on prime and it is listed as an 18. But is it really not that bad?

I’d think due hard is fine, maybe look up imdb parents guide first though as I seem to remember one dodgy bit but I can’t remember what it is! Deck the halls is very good too or Fred Claus

LillianGish · 09/12/2023 16:01

Get Santa - great film.

stayathomer · 09/12/2023 16:01

Ooer no, die hard 1 has a few bits in it actually, I don’t know …

Coffee473 · 09/12/2023 16:01

My teen girls at that age loved things like The Holiday, Love Actually, Last Christmas etc

Floralnomad · 09/12/2023 16:04

Die Hard depends on the individual , I’m not a fan of gratuitous violence so personally can’t stand it .

DisplayPurposesOnly · 09/12/2023 16:57

Gremlins!

Yumyi · 09/12/2023 17:02

Fred Claus and deck the halls looking good. I have boys so thinking love actually maybe not

Jingle All The Way 🎄😊

LycheeBaby · 09/12/2023 17:07

Die Hard is full of violence plus lots of swearing. Depends on your kids. Suspect it would be a 15 these days though, fwiw.

Hate to say it but Love Actually?

Piggywaspushed · 09/12/2023 17:44

Gremlins might proper scare an 11 year old.

I could just watch Home Alone over and over and over again tbh.

I don't find that teens do eye rolling over proper Christmas films unlike everything else. It's everyone's permit to be a child.

We watch The Snowman and Home Alone every year.

How about A Christmas Carol? Muppets version obviously!

Daddy’s home 2
I’ll be home for Christmas
National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation

Planes, Trains and automobiles? Not sure though, check the rating, it might be unsuitable but it's hilarious!

Cantthinkofadifferentname · 09/12/2023 19:00

@LycheeBaby I've not let my 13 yr old DD watch Love Actually due to the stand-ins in the film filming a sex scene

FredWinnie · 09/12/2023 19:03

Scrooged
Grinch? Many adults love the Grinch as do kids

Peacheroo · 09/12/2023 19:27

Currently watching Krampus with my 12 year old. Probably the wrong genre but certainly Christmassy

queensonia · 09/12/2023 19:39

Spirited on Apple TV with Ryan Reynolds and will ferrell
