Hi, been considering this for ages! My son loves hot chocolate and I wondered if this is suitable- looking for your thoughts if you have kids that use this independently.

Thanks

The product is great and so simple to use - ie a nine year old could do it. I love mine.

however…. I’d have thought that a 9 yo would be much less fussed abut where the hot choc came from / how it was made etc. will they care about having a velviser or do they just want hot chocolate?

also, portions are quite small. Probably good for a child but they may not agree!

We bought one for our DS for his 9th birthday - he absolutely loves it - he's 11 now and it's still used regularly. He found it very easy to use from the beginning.

We bought the mixed packs of sachets to start to try the different flavours which he enjoyed and we now use a mix of HC chocolate in a tub, the flavoured sachets and any old hot chocolate powder.

I don't know if it still comes with the handleless cups but they were too awkward for him to hold and a bit hot for a 9 year old when full (IMO)

@ViaRia01 Thank you, that’s helpful. It’s more about the usability of it, others seem to be milk frothers and looked a bit clunky. I had also read that the temperature was a little lower on this.

We would definitely use Cadbury’s powder after the sachets.

I’d be careful with the clean up however - it shouldn’t get too wet!

Yes a 9 year old could use one, but it won’t be the 9 year old paying for the endless supply of chocolate!

We bought my just turned 11 year old one for Christmas a couple of years ago. It’s used daily for something and he loves it. Hot choc is his favourite thing, regardless of the season. For his birthday he loves a gift bag of different hot chocs and marshmallows etc.

HC also have great customer service. Our stupid dog chewed the liD and I contacted them to see if I could buy a new one and they sent me one free of charge.

Have you looked at the hot chocolate shaker? Makes really nice drinks and isn't hideously priced.

Never heard of that. Will have a look. Thanks
