Who is yours booked with and what date before Christmas? Have you gone delivery or click & collect?

Mines booked in on 21st delivery with Sainsburys.
Bit worried this is too early now but couldn't get any closer.
I am twitching on Asda click & collect on 23rd but last year it was chaos!

I always get the following:

Tesco delivery on 23rd - mainly general groceries

M&S collection on 24th in the morning - turkey and sides and any bits that didn't arrive from Tesco

I also have a Waitrose collection this year on the 23rd for some Christmassy treats

IncompleteSenten · 06/12/2023 17:49

Tesco for the 23rd. That way whatever doesn't get delivered my husband has time to brave the shops for.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/12/2023 18:22

Sainsbury's on the evening of 22nd, and collecting from Morrisons on 23rd. Anything missing from Friday's delivery will be collected on Saturday.

Stress101 · 06/12/2023 18:24

23rd at 9am, Click and Collect. Not in the UK so won't post the shop.

RepetitiveMotion · 06/12/2023 18:30

22 Dec am with Ocado. If anything missing I will - shock horror - go to a supermarket. DH works in C London and has been known to pick up a turkey off the shelves on 23rd when deliveries have failed. There’s always loads on the shelves IME.

breakingtheglass · 06/12/2023 18:54

24 dec Waitrose. I wasn’t even trying to book one I registered to do an order last week and it came up with something about Xmas slots and I looked and there was one for midday on the 24 so I booked it

Hibernatalie · 06/12/2023 19:11

Sainsbury's, 23rd December. We are in all day on that day and it gives us Christmas Eve if there's anything important missing.

PanettonePuff · 06/12/2023 19:19

Got an Asda food delivery for
8-9am on Sat 23rd … then if there’s stuff missing or weird substitutions (looking at you, Tesco😡) there’s still enough time to whizz out to the local shop.

Tesco almost ruined my Christmas food shop a few years ago by subbing or just not sending important stuff - haven’t trusted them since with Xmas delivery.

Snozzlemaid · 06/12/2023 19:21

Tesco on the 23rd here too

sprigatito · 06/12/2023 19:23

Mine is evening of 21st. I'm also worried it's a bit early, but also grateful to have got a slot at all, given how ridiculous shopping delivery services have become.

mrsm43s · 06/12/2023 19:24

I do it a bit differently. I have an online delivery for everything that won't have a short shelf life on 19th, and then on 23rd I'll brave the shops in person and buy all the short shelf life items, plus anything that wasn't delivered on 19th. I don't trust an online shop to deliver everything that I want in the state I want it, so am resigned to going in person anyway, but the earlier online shop makes that process as quick and painless as possible!

shearwater2 · 06/12/2023 19:26

24th. I'll get a few things beforehand though, bit hairy to leave everything to Christmas Eve.

vanillafudgecake · 06/12/2023 19:28

Ocado on the 23rd and anything I forget or is missing I can hopefully collect on Christmas Eve
