The gifts I received were appalling last year. I think someone had gone through an odds and ends drawer and gave me the contents. Very random odd things.

I ALWAYS got the worst secret Santa. Although our team was 90% woman and 95% full time and we all knew each other well. I somehow ALWAYS got picked by basically the one male remote worker who only came for the Xmas party... they never put in any effort and they knew nothing about me and didn't attempt to.

Sucked to see all the other girls open lovely thoughtful really personal gifts and then their giver would explain the loving thought behind each item, there where even tears a few times and I would got:

The year I got a £5 gift card, not even wrapped just in a carrier bag for a shop below the room the party was in (so they bought it on the way into the party). I have never shopped in there, its clearly the opposite of my style and everything is a LOT more than £5 so the gift card was useless... thanks (this was the best result I ever got though).

Or the year I got nothing, felt like a slap in the face (but still not worst).

The worse though was the year someone gave me actual junk mail flyers from the office lobby... I was genuinely speechless, I had gone remote a few weeks before and they clearly just forgot about me even though I was in it and bought a gift for my person. Didn't bother going back for the Xmas parties after that.
