I'm putting this in Christmas as it's the only time I drink Baileys. I love a Baileys in Hot Chocolate but don't really like Cadbury's drinking chocolate, so can anyone recommend a lovely hot chocolate- or other hot drink for my tipple?

Baileys warmed up in milk but mainly baileys, delish

Do you like coffee? I put baileys in latte! 😋

Just make your own hot chocolate. Honestly. Use this recipe:

2-3 heaped tsp cocoa powder (depending on how strong you like it)
2.5tsp sugar
250ml milk

Put the cocoa powder and sugar in a mug
Mix with a little milk to form a smooth paste - stir it well to get the lumps out
Microwave it for about 30 seconds (don't let it bubble up too far - just warm it a bit)
Top up with the milk and stir
Microwave it for about a minute
Stir
Microwave again for 45 seconds-1 minute

(Microwave times depend on your microwave and how hot you want it to be - you don't want the milk to boil so you might have to check it halfway through the second time).

Add your Baileys and enjoy.

It's really no harder than making Cadbury's hot chocolate, and it's cheaper and nicer!

These are the kind of,suggestions I'm looking for - yes it's good in a Latte!

On a tangent here, but we put Baileys in coffee instead of milk - and we have our coffee very milky!

If you put any hot chocolate in a milk frother it gives it more body and makes it taste creamier, which helps even with cheap drinking chocolate. I like the whittards ones. Happy drinking!

Melt a ripple to make the hot chocolate! Revolutionary.

I'm a very fussy hot chocolate drinker and the only one I like at home is m&s own hot chocolate.

Clipper instant hot chocolate is delicious. Their tea is very good too.

Melt your favourite chocolate into milk

Clipper Hot Chocolate is delicious, and also the costa hot chocolate that comes in a tin is lovely.

The costa one is meant to be made with hot milk, but it tastes just as lovely if you add a splash of milk to the chocolate and stir to make a paste, before topping up with hot water.

Cocoa. So much better as you can adjust the proportions according to tastes (so less sickly sweet than hot chocolate). When feeling decadent a make a paste of cocoa, soft dark brown sugar and double cream then top up with hot full fat milk. I'm sure Baileys would be a good addition...

Thanks for all the ideas, was looking at them all in Waitrose yesterday but didn't know which one to get. They had the Costa one in there so might try it. Will try some different coffee pods as well.

If you like nutella then one huge tablesppon, in milk heated up or frothed with hot milk is how the coffee shops make a nutella hot chocolate. I just chuck it in my coffee personally, you could do a baileys dalgona if you fancy something a bit special.

DisforDarkChocolate · 06/12/2023 11:09

Lindt do a lovely one.

I generally just make cocoa with cocoa powder or by adding some dark chocolate drops and whisking very well to get some froth.
