Hi all, after quite a disappointing trek about Hebden Bridge, am left wondering where you'd suggest heading for a day out shopping?
We were aiming for Christmas shopping in nice, unique shops interspersed with coffee breaks, but the town felt really grey (barely any decs up!) and a lot of the shops seemed to stock things very easily found on amazon etc. I don't know if we were expecting too much, with the whole all-independent shops marketing (which is confusing as fat face and boots are there!)
Really trying to not shop online as much and the out of town retail parks aren't the best place for gifts. Would like to support local makers and businesses, but also want to know we're heading somewhere worthwhile.
So does anyone have any suggestions please? We're in the northwest, but suggestions welcome for anywhere! Hopefully we can come up with some suggestions for everyone?
A personal favourite is Barmouth in north Wales - full of little unusual shops and lots of nices places to eat. Also incredibly dog-friendly!
