Seasonal affective disorder

my mood has become so low since winter started , I hate the weather the dark evening , I’m such a sunny summer girl
I feel awful and can’t seem to get out of this funk

does anything else suffer ? I find myself so low any crying most days I’m not usually like this tho

My DS1 (22)suffers with this, I bought him a SAD lamp. That seems to help. We are all booked to go away for some winter sunshine, lifts us all til the spring.

That's why I have a lot of Christmas lights and novelty tree decorations. It's to brighten my day and stop me hibernating.
I close the curtains from the dark, make my home snuggly, warm and bright.

@3crazyboys I agree, winter sun is so much better. Hope you feel better soon Flowers. Canaries are a good option in the winter. Always been in Dec or Feb half term, always had good weather.

Me for 30 odd years and got so fed up with it a few years ago, went to doctor now on repeat prescription fo anti depressants which I start taking in October through to mid Jan.also use a light box.the ADs make.soo much difference. No crying, mood much better.Totally given me the winter months back.

It's a recognised condition . Its not normal to be crying every day. You dont need to suffer so much. I wish I'd gone down the AD route much earlier in my life.Instead every winter d just try and get on with things while feeling shit and so tired.

I was on ad for quite a few years and come off them last November which I felt so pleased with myself , this year been coping well, but now I’m thinking I need them again
