8 year old boy gift ideas

Help please! My godson is going to be 8 in a couple of weeks and I have no idea on bday or Christmas presents. My dc are pre school age so this is new to me!

Any ideas would be great. Budget £20ish for each gift.

Lego - city, sonic, Mario,

Minecraft stuff - stationery, books, Lego

Books - DS when he was this age liked Dogman, Treehouse series, wimpy kid, Tom gates, Jack Stalwart series, Kid YouTuber or if you wanted to get a Christmas themed one, the Christmasaurus series is good

Games - labyrinth, uno, dobble, exploding kittens, top trumps, Blockus

I always recommend the national geographic dig kits for that sort of age!

Following as I have a similar aged boy to buy for this year.

In the past I got him a nerf gun/bullets, or fancy felt tips/drawing book and both seemed to go down well.

It depends what he likes!

My ds loves games so he's getting Mario monopoly and a children's escape room game.

Lego is normally a safe bet.
