We put him in the fruit bowl and wrote a silly message on a banana. Put him face down in a box of cornflakes. Sat him a a chair with the X box controller. Surrounded him with sweet papers and lay him down clutching his stomach.

IDontDrinkTea · 05/12/2023 23:29

This is the first year I’ve realised that the elf can fit into barbie clothes. With two daughters, that gives me plenty of options 😂

flowerbombVR · 05/12/2023 23:57

Pmk. Lifesaver!

mamamilkmachine · 06/12/2023 00:31

Place marking, great idea, was wondering if there was one of these!

Howmanysleepsnow · 06/12/2023 00:50

Mine drew on 2 satsumas stacked up to make a snowman. They also sneak into the advent calendar so it opens to reveal their face. Snow angels with flour. Reindeer crumpets for breakfast. Toast marshmallows on a candle. Play football with à chocolate Christmas pudding (net as the goal). Wrap presents for one another (elf jumper and chocolate coins). Wrap one another up. Ride a toy reindeer. Fry haribo eggs for breakfast. Bring Christmas jumpers/ pjs/ hot chocolate. Hide in the Pringles/ quality street. Bring craft supplies. Drape toilet roll on the tree. Use socks as sleeping bags. Hide in a Christmas cracker with a note to pull it. Get tangled up in Christmas lights. Hide in the
freezer with a toy snowman. Draw snowman faces and buttons on stacked toilet rolls. Roll
downstairs inside à toilet roll. Bring paper chains to make. Abseil from the fireplace. Bring Christmas books.

VeruccaSalty · 06/12/2023 21:06

The underpants on the Christmas tree went down very well, so thanks for that suggestion! Worried have peaked too soon...

@MrBigsCat Some Extra ideas for all

Baking Extravaganza:
Place the elf in a miniature kitchen setting with tiny baking ingredients.
Use dollhouse-sized baking tools to create a scene of the elf baking cookies.

Elf-sized Art Gallery:
Arrange mini frames with pictures of the elf's adventures.
Create small paintings or drawings to showcase the elf's artistic side.

Magic Portal:
Craft a small portal using a picture frame or cardboard.
Position the elf near the portal, suggesting a magical journey.

Balloon Avalanche:
Tape a garbage bag full of balloons over a door.
Have the elf tangled up in the balloons, as if causing a festive avalanche.

Elf Science Lab:
Set up a tiny science lab with baking soda, vinegar, and other safe household items.
Showcase the elf conducting fun and safe "experiments."

Winter Wonderland:
Create a winter scene using cotton balls as snow.
Position the elf with tiny snowman figures or engaging in a snowball fight with other toys.

Superhero Training:
Dress the elf in a superhero costume.
Set up an obstacle course with household items for the elf's superhero training.

Hot Air Balloon Ride:
Suspend a small basket or cup from helium balloons.
Have the elf inside, appearing to take a hot air balloon ride.

Elf Workout Gym:
Arrange mini workout equipment using small household items.
Pose the elf lifting small weights or doing yoga.

Secret Agent Elf:
Dress the elf in a spy outfit.
Set up a small espionage scene using toy binoculars and a "spy" mission note.

Rock Climbing Elf:
Attach the elf to a vertical surface using Velcro or double-sided tape.
Create a rock-climbing wall with toy holds.

Bookworm Elf:
Arrange tiny books around the elf.
Have the elf "reading" one of the books with a pair of miniature reading glasses.

Fishing Adventure:
Place the elf near a bowl of water.
Use a miniature fishing rod with a paperclip as a hook to make it look like the elf is fishing in a "pond."

MrBigsCat · 07/12/2023 07:54

I did the elves wrapping some other Christmas decoration people (nutcracker guy and gnome) in cling film
and then elves playing cards
very low effort

definitely going to go to crispy cream and do the elves brought donuts for breakfast on a weekend day that sounds like a fun one!!

We did elf breakfast once.
quails eggs as fried eggs, cocktail sausages, streaky bacon cut tiny, small white roll cut into sliced toast

Place marking this thread for the inevitable 1am, sit bolt upright in bed:

"DID YOU MOVE THE ELF???"

moment.

my favourite, but I'm afraid I have a dark sense of humour

3ofus3 · 07/12/2023 16:33

Following.
I hate these elf's 😩 but my eldest loves them 🤣

RicherThanYews · 08/12/2023 23:34

For the common folk, a nice easy one is to draw swear words on your own toenails. Feel free to substitute what you're actually feeling (Fuck + Sakes) for gentler things like poop and fart.

backonthemerrygoround · 09/12/2023 10:38

I have done: elves in the tree arranging baubles, elves playing cards with last years cracker cards (if you know you’re going to have to do this next year, save all the cracker contents in a box!), elves taking apart a Christmas jigsaw, elves zip lining, cut elf sized bites with a measuring spoon out of cookies the kids made and posed them with them. Saving up snow angels in Christmas cake sprinkles (sounds least messy), wrapping up other toys, hitting up the Barbie clothes etc for future nights.

JaxiiTaxii · 11/12/2023 22:33

Tonight elf has decorated a pot plant with bits of tat from around the lounge, and tipped up a bag of spare decs, because he ALWAYS makes a mess.

Tomorrow he might either be playing footy with a bauble & the Lego men.
Or he might make a den from sofa cushions & blankets.

That's another 2 nights down...

MrBigsCat · 11/12/2023 22:38

Very low maintenance; elf stuck in washing machine with a sign on the door saying ‘help me’

gotomomo · 11/12/2023 22:44

Dd picked one up from the charity shop and put it in my spice bag bowl (don't ask) then I found it holding onto my ginHmm most recently it's sitting on a pile of paperwork. Thankfully they were too old when it was invented, I thinks she's trying to wind me up!

We did elf breakfast once.
quails eggs as fried eggs, cocktail sausages, streaky bacon cut tiny, small white roll cut into sliced toast*
this is lovely!
also friend has hers deliver letters to/from Santa from leighdraws.etsy.co.uk, they are very ‘real’ looking.

KandF · 11/12/2023 23:08

This is what we did for our first week with the elf, he is new for us this year!

We've also done - wrapping the tree in toilet paper, a swing on the lights, golfing and drawing on bunch of bananas this week so far!

Can we have an elves idea sharing thread?
Soscrewed · 11/12/2023 23:36

One of my children's favourite ever was wrapping the bowls, spoons, cereal and milk (and putting them back where they go so they found each thing as they made breakfast) in wrapping paper. Took 5 minutes, but they loved it. Also wrapped the TV one year.

IJemimaDigging · 16/12/2023 21:21

Tesco sell small jelly sweet pizzas for 30p, so our elf is having a takeaway.

IJemimaDigging · 17/12/2023 13:41

I've also seen jelly hamburgers in Costco too, so may do that another day.

MrBigsCat · 18/12/2023 21:41

Did elf stuck in advent calendar tonight because there’s loads of spaces in it now
