Just that - any recent books that are outstanding for my brother who would read it in a day? I know I should just drop him at the library but he lives in a different country. Lol! FYI he's 45 if relevant thanks!

My recommendation would be to ask. I am a bookworm and whenever someone gifts me a book, I already have it.
Do you know some of his favourites authors? There might be some new books available on pre-order on Amazon.
Seriously ask, because us bookworms, we read a serious lot.

I agree with asking, or asking if he has a wish-list, or could make one.

Does he use a kindle? Could do gift cards so he can buy a book he wants. Or fancy bookmark/book covers to protect on the go?

Just ask - I get given so many books I have already read so despite appreciating the thought, I would much rather get something I actually like or (ideally) book tokens to choose for myself.
